Timothy Chevalier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 19, 2017.

RAYMOND - Timothy Robert Chevalier, 22, of Raymond, died unexpectedly on March 10, 2017.

He was born in Exeter on Sept. 22, 1994, the son of Bruce A. and Deborah (McHugh) Chevalier.

Tim grew up in Stratham and Raymond. He was working for the last year and a half in the Receiving Department at the Walmart Distribution Center in Raymond.

He was a strong, sensitive, quiet, respectful young man with a quirky sense of humor. He was a voracious reader who particularly enjoyed reading the classics. He loved '80s rock music and playing video games. Tim was also an avid chess player and was a long-time member of the NH Chess Association and the United States Chess Federation. He won many tournaments over the years during his chess career as he sought to achieve his dream of becoming a Chess Master.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, David and Christine Chevalier, and is survived by his loving parents, Bruce Chevalier of Stratham and Deborah Chevalier of Raymond; two sisters, Pamela Chevalier of Exeter and Amanda Chevalier of Manchester; three brothers, Christopher Chevalier and his wife, Sherri, of Fremont, NH, Matthew Chevalier and his wife, Vistina, of Berwick, Pa., and Nicholas Chevalier of Newmarket; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy McHugh, of Raymond; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Beloved son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, Tim left us way too soon and will be sorely missed.
.
SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at the Raymond Baptist Church, on Rte. 27 in Raymond, from 1 to 4 p.m. This will start with a short service to be immediately followed by an informal get-together downstairs. All are invited to come and go at any time during these hours to share memories, love and comfort while celebrating Tim's life, which deeply touched our own.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the New Hampshire Chess Association, c/o John Elmore, President, 13 Thornhill Road, Stratham, NH 03885.

My condolences to Tim's family at this sad time. My family knew Tim through chess as my boys played in many NH tournaments with Tim. So sorry to hear of his passing.
