To the Gossfeld Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Tim's untimely passing. I had the privilege of knowing him beginning at the FBI Academy in 1984. He was then, and continued to be, one of the most warm, personable and practical people I have ever met. Every time I saw him he was full of enthusiasm and had that characteristic and infectious smile on his face. Tim's warm and positive presence are what i remember most, and he made this world a safer and better and place for all of us.

I am so shocked and sad that Tim is no longer with us. Tim touched many people's lives across the globe including us in Australia. We shared a great passion for soaring flight. Tim loved PC and the glider was immaculate. I hope that the soul of PC has turned into a beautiful white angel and now soars with Tim in heaven.

Lynn, Megan, and Family,
My deepest condolences and prayers are with you during this time. For my first two years at the Bureau, ASAC Gossfeld was a strong source of personal encouragement and support despite my junior position. I clearly remember listening to the passion in his voice during his retirement speech. While I listened to his powerful words, I promised myself that I too would follow my career dreams and lead a life of no regrets.

Lynn and Megan, Amy and I just heard the news of Tim's passing. We are so sorry for your loss. I have read all of the entries in this book and am amazed at his accomplishments, friendships, loyalty, love for flying and most of all his love for you two. I had only met him once this fall at a cc meet and admired the encouragement he showed to Megan. Our prayers are with you as you go through this difficult time and beyond.

Lynn and Megan, Your family was so special in so many ways...I find it hard to find the words to tell you how much it meant to me to find the Gossfelds in the soaring community. Megan was my FIRST glider-kid when she was so little...all i can think about is all the laughter, all the great locations (some good, some not so good)..and how much Charlie-Lite loved all of you. Know that my prayers are for your comfort at this awful time...and I know that Charlie-Lite was there for Tim to join Spratt and so many others.

... a special memory of Tim .. We flew/raced together at the 1999 Region 7 contest held at both CGC and Hinckley airports. One morning just as we were about to grid the gliders I realized that I had accidentally left my old GPS unit on overnight and had ran the (8)AA batteries down. Tim had some and quickly got them to me so I could race with GPS help that day. So sorry for your loss .. Tim was certainly special.

Mrs. Gossfeld,
Unfortunately, I didnt find out what a stand up guy Tim was until after he left the Chicago Division. He endeared himself to me and my family while ASAC in MP when he not only coordinated but also extended limitless accomidations to me during my 2007 hardship TDY to Minneapolis in order to facilitate my youngest daughter's bone marrow transplant. His enduring hospitality brough me and my wife much needed solace and for that, I will forever be thankful to him. Please accept our sincerest condolences.

Dear Lynn and Megan, Pam and I were profoundly saddened to hear of Tim's tragic accident at Ionia. Getting to know the 3 of you at Parowan was such a pleasure and I had had a great time flying with Megan in the foothills near the airport. I will never forget our Japanese Dinner in Cedar City or the Ethiopian dinner in St. Paul. Tim will be greatly missed by his friends from all areas of his life but especially his soaring friends. May God's peace and comfort be with you and your family during this difficult time.

Lynn and Megan, I am deeply saddened by the loss of Tim. I was glad to have had the opportunity to get to know Tim a quite a bit in recent years. My favorite memories of Tim are from the 2010 Sports Class Nationals soaring contest in Parowan, UT. Dick Andrews and I enjoyed going to dinner with you all at a nice Japanese restaurant during the contest. I know Dick would agree that that dinner was a highlight of the trip. It was nice to hang out with you all during the long contest. We also enjoyed the get together for dinner at the Ethiopian restaurant in St. Paul a few months later. It was very enjoyable. I also processed a few MN state soaring records that Tim achieved in recent years – some in his ASW 27 and some with Barry Jaeger in Barry's Arcus sailplane. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you and bring you comfort in this difficult time.

I am deeply saddened by Tim's untimely death ~ Tim was a man of great courage who was a dedicated FBI Agent and leader. His commitment to his country was only surpassed by his commitment to his family. To the Gossfeld Family,
It is very hard to put into words what a true pleasure it was to have known Tim and to have worked closely with him over the last two years. From being my mentor to being my friend, to hear him speak of flying & wood working to the joy he had in owning a share of Green Bay Packers stock. Please take comfort in knowing that although his time with us in this world was cut short, the impact that Tim had on me and others will live on forever.
