Timothy McCoy Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 26, 2023.
It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our brother Tim. He passed away on December 4th after a 6-month period of declining health.

Tim was born in Newport Beach CA to the late Imogene McCoy. He was the Husband of the late Kathleen McCoy who passed away in 2018, and the Father of Thomas McCoy age 39.

He grew up in Huntington Beach, CA along with 4 siblings. Tim enlisted in the Marine Corps out of high school and was stationed at Moffett Field in Mountain View CA. There he met and married the love of His life, Kathie. They welcomed their son Tom in 1984. Shortly thereafter, tragedy struck and Kathie was left paralyzed on her right side. At that time, Tim devoted himself to the care of his Wife & raising their Son. The family moved to Redding in 1986 and enjoyed raising their son together. They lived in Jones Valley enjoying the quiet country life close to Lake Shasta where Tim loved to spend time fishing, some gold panning, and metal detecting. He told almost everyone he knew about the meteorite he found out at Ski Island!

Tim loved the outdoors where he fished and explored all nature had to offer. He was a loyal sports fan to the San Jose Sharks and the San Francisco 49ers.

He is survived by his son Thomas McCoy of Redding, Brother Richard Pair, Sisters Linda (Bob) Stover & Vella Arevalo, twin sister Tammie Blanton, and Sister-in-law Chris Pair.

He will be laid to rest at the Veterans Cemetery in Igo CA along with his wife. May you rest in peace dear Father and Brother. You were a good man with a heart of gold. You will be greatly missed, until we meet again.

Arrangements are under the care of Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding. (530) 243-1525.
