Timothy Pedrozo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 31, 2024.
Timothy Gerard Pedrozo passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, in Modesto, California, surrounded by loved ones. He was 64 years old.

Tim was born on July 28, 1960, in Merced, California, to Joseph and Barbara Pedrozo (née Silveria). He grew up on the family dairy farm in Merced alongside his five siblings: Joseph Pedrozo (Diana), Mary Dawidczik (Jim), Theodore Pedrozo (Juanita), John Pedrozo (Kelly), and Judy Blackburn (Harry). Tim graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic school in 1974 and graduated from Merced High School in 1978. Tim also attended Merced Junior College where he was apart of the award winning dairy judging team. As a youth, Tim was an active member of 4-H and FFA, earning the prestigious American Farmer Degree through FFA.

In 1999, Tim and his family moved to Orland, California, where they founded Pedrozo Dairy and Cheese Co. Together with his wife Jill (née Richards), Tim crafted farmstead cheese on their property, which was sold at farmers markets, grocery stores, and restaurants throughout California and beyond. In 2022, Tim and Jill retired to Bolivar, Missouri, to be closer to their son Tom, daughter-in-law Heather, and granddaughter Mary.

Tim's love for animals was evident throughout his life. While he had a special fondness for cows, his farm was home to a variety of animals including goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs, and cats. He also had a passion for gardening and cultivated vibrant gardens filled with flowers, fruits, and vegetables across his property.

A dedicated community member and leader, Tim served as a board member for the California Milk Advisory Board and the California Artisan Cheese Guild. He was a 4-H club leader and enjoyed teaching youth. He was a dedicated Catholic, serving the church through teaching catechism and pre-baptism classes. Tim made friends wherever he went through his involvement in various organizations.

Tim is survived by his wife Jill; children Thomas Pedrozo (Heather) and Laura Courpet (Michael); granddaughter Mary Pedrozo; and his siblings and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Barbara Pedrozo and stepdaughter Amanda Johnston.

A Rosary service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Mass and a reception to follow at Our Lady of Mercy School, 1400 E 27th St., Merced, CA (enter via Santa Fe Drive). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Our Lady of Mercy School Memorial Fund.

For the past few years Tim and his wife, Jill, worked as substitute teachers in our school district. Always cheerful, reliable, and super kind-hearted, Tim subbed in our buildings quite a lot and will be deeply missed by faculty, staff, and students alike. We have been so blessed by the Tim and his wife in our school district. Rest in peace, dear Tim.

My deep condolences to the family of Tim. I met Tim as a child through my aunt, who is a friend of Tim and Jill's; however, I also was acquainted with Mandy. I many fond memories of being at Tim and Jill's Dairy and spending time with them. I am so sorry for the loss.

I met Tim as a freshmen in high school at East Campus (Merced High). We ended up being best friends throughout our four years of high school. Our friendship included my parents and my siblings too. I knew the entire Pedrozo family. As I remember they were salt of the earth people. As we grew up and I joined the US Air Force, we lost touch. I´m so sorry for your loss. barb (Rugani) Kyser

We extend our condolences to the Pedrozo family. While we did not know Tim, reading his obituary and the reflections others have written about him bring us comfort knowing that he was loved by his family and friends. God bless the life of Tim. Steve and Vaune Newvine.

We are so lucky to have Tim and the Pedrozo´s as part of our extended Overton/Oakley family. Tim is a genuinely good and faithful man - there is nothing more important in life than being just that. My heart and love go out to all of you.

I remember Timmy telling me I was always so nice to him in high-school. It struck me as odd that anyone would treat him differently. He was always such a kind and loving soul. Timmy and Jill have always inspired me to try and be a better human being. Rest in Peace Timmy.

He was supposed to be a girl, but God sent us a 4th brother. Tim was a happy boy with the most beautiful curly hair, my mother never cut his hair short. Tim helped as a little guy on the farm and was often singing to the calves as he would feed them. I will miss my baby brother so much.
