Dear Chris and family, I am sorry to hear about the loss of Tim and wish you peace and prayers during this difficult time. I am blessed to have (cousin) Debbie Falkenhan keep me connected to the Sassone family members. There is a special spiritual connection with the name. Again - my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

To the family of Tim, I am so sad and also shocked to hear of the passing of Sass. Back in High School, we were friends and that gives me lots of memories to keep. You will be missed Sass

Tim and I worked for The Star in the south 'burbs some 30 years ago before both of us coming to the Daily Herald in 1984. He was my first read every morning in our paper. I go back to the great Dan Moulton of the Chicago American days and of course Bob Verdi with the Trib. Tim was THE Blackhawks authority in Chicago for the last 25 years and he will be sorely missed. Prayers to the Sassone family.

Dear Sassone family,
When I relocated from Toronto to Chicago in 1991 there was a vast divide and void in hockey and Blackhawk coverage. Tim bridged that gap and then some. Though I never knew Tim personally, I did know him. In fact, I'm sure every Chicagoan that read his column knew Tim. As Pat Foley is the voice of the Blackhawks, Tim was the written voice and connection. All readers will miss him. With sincere condolences for the loss of a great man and hockey journalist.

Chris and Family, you are in our thoughts and prayers.

As one who knew Tim but unfortunately not his family, I am so sorry for the loss they and all of us feel now. As a professional in his business, as a colleague in several hockey press boxes, and as an occasional lunch companion with the rest of the Blackhawks media corps...Tim was all-class with great skills and a good heart. We were all better for knowing him. And we enjoyed the many stories his greater experience brought us. Sincere prayers
for the family today and in the days ahead. Mike Emrick, St. Clair, MI

Well Cuz, I always enjoyed readying your Blackhawk Blogs and columns, even though you probably didn't realize I read most everything. Always was interested to hear what you had to say about My Avalanche, you said we needed defense and now we have some. Celebrating Birthdays with you and Paul when we were young was all ways fun. I'm sorry that over the years we had drifted apart. Chris, Ali and Andrew, I will think about you often. You are all in my prayers! Love Debbie Sassone Falkenhan

I send my deepest condolences to all of the Sassone family. When I started working for the General Manager of the Chicago Blackhawks in 1989. Tim interviewed me about how I got the job. It was quite an honor for him to ask me. Throughout the years, he was always so kind and always a pleasure to work with. Again, my deepest sympathy. Cindy Brueck
