Timothy Spronz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 20, 2024.
Timothy Gerard Spronz, 69 of Grapevine, TX passed away on May 16, 2024 after a brief struggle with small cell lung cancer.

Tim was born on December 6, 1954 to Bill and Coletta Spronz in Cleveland, Ohio. His family moved to Morristown, New Jersey where he graduated from high school in 1972. After receiving his Bachelor's Degree from Fairleigh Dickenson University in Teaneck, New Jersey, Tim moved to Grapevine and attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he received his Master's Degree.

Tim became a Grapevine Police Officer and served honorably on the force for a few years, after which time he was one of a few select candidates who have ever been chosen to serve as a Secret Service Agent. After extensive training in Glynco, Georgia, Tim became part of the team who travelled with Vice President Bush during the Ronald Regan Administration. Tim had the best stories of his time as a Secret Service Agent. He like to tell people, "I could tell you, but then I'd have to shoot you." He would laugh and then regale his audience with interesting stories about his interesting career.

In 1983, Tim met Debra in Grapevine. They married in 1987 and in 1988, they welcomed their beautiful daughter Kaitlyn (Kaki) into their lives, their hearts and their home.

After retiring from the government, Tim spent the next twenty years as a field landman working for several large companies in Texas. The last company he worked for was Daniels Land Service where he had the honor and privilege of becoming friends and family with brothers Zane and Ben Daniels and their families.

In his spare time, Tim loved to make pens. He spent hours in the garage working on his lathe, turning out beautiful pens that he loved giving to friends and family members. Those of you who are lucky enough to own one of Tim's fabulous pens know how talented and creative he was.

Tim was predeceased by his father, Bill and his mother, Coletta. He is survived by Debra, his wife and best friend of 37 years, his beloved daughter Kaki (Wes), grandchildren Cam and Kendi of Tennessee, brothers Bill (Cecilia) of New Jersey and Kevin (Karin) of Georgia, and several much loved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Living Word Lutheran Church, 2031 W. Northwest Highway in Grapevine. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Arcy Healthcare, a wonderful hospice service with loving and caring nurses.

Just learned of Tim´s passing. What a great guy and story teller. I attended his wedding. It was Tim who convinced me to go from local police officer to U.S. Treasury Agent.... We had some great times working together....

I was beyond sad to hear this news. I won't pretend to understand what you must be feeling. But I can imagine. Due to life's circumstance's I have not seen y'all in many years. But I have been kept abreast of y'alls lives through my mother.
Through her updates and from my own childhood memories I can attest that Tim was a kind man. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Timmy was my cousin and very fun. I have fond memories of visiting his family and hanging out with them. He was one of the good guys. I loved watching him grow into a fine man along with his brothers and the rest of the Sullivans. Cheers to a great guy! Jeanmarie.

Tim was married to my neice and he had a great personality, because he got along with all my family. We always had wonderful family gatherings and delicious food cooked by my Debra's mother (Mildred).

I had the pleasure of working with Tim in New Hampshire back in the late 80's and early 90's. No matter how much snow was on the ground Tim was wearing boat shoes and no socks! He was one of the most organized people I ever met, a place for everything and everything in its place. Rest in peace Tim. Kathy and I will remember you, Debra and Kaiki at Mass this weekend.

Tim was a very hard worker and we were very fortunate to have his as a co-worker. Most importantly, we were truly blessed by his friendship. He loved to share stories and pictures of his precious grandbabies with me and he always took the time to ask about mine. He truly was one of a kind and an amazing man. Tim will be greatly missed.

My first memory of Tim - I started laughing even as I want to express my sorrow when I learned he had left headed to Heaven. Party was at Patrick and Duff´s and he starting telling stories and I was smitten with him at once. He will be missed by not just his family but friends like me will laugh and tell stories about him for as long as I last. My love and hugs to his family too.
