Dearest Sam and family, I was so shocked and saddened to learn of Tim's untimely passing. He was truly one of the nicest people I have ever known. May his memory be a blessing.

My deepest sympathy goes out to Samantha and the Steiner & Hunter families.
Tim was one of my two best friends at Butterfield Elementary and at Libertyville HS. I graduated with Tim in 1985 as well.
While deeply saddened, I'll try to think about happier times. Tim's dad was our Den Leader in Cub Scouts, so I remember all those good times at the Steiner household on Tuesday nights throughout the school year. He and I both played bass clarinet in the band from grades 5-12, and shared a locked once or twice. While I remember our friendly competition in band, I remember his friendship above all.
Despite having lost touch after high school, I did think back upon our good times frequently throughout college and beyond.
With sadness and great sympathy,
John Frieders
