This photo is from a few years ago at the Colonnade on Cheshire Bridge. Time spent with Timothy was extraordinary. He was my Rock of Gibraltar. One of the last times he and I spoke by phone on 8.3.24, he shared with me to be "true to myself" and for that I cherish his guidance and the times we spent together.

The first time I met Timothy was in the late 80s before he had a gallery. I had just opened my rug business over on Benett Street and Tim sold me my first Aptel from the trunk of his vintage Cadillac or maybe it was a Lincoln. We have been friends ever since. Timothy had an incredible eye and clarity and confidence in it which made him a great dealer. If Tim said it was good you knew it was. I am going to miss him and my heart goes out to his family and all of his loved ones. Timothy was a beautiful soul and we could use more like him in this world.

I met Timothy Tew at the Tula location as we both had just started out own businesses. Timothy with the Gallerie and me with an Interior Design shop in Fairhope, Alabama. I followed him his entire career and place many beautiful pieces of art from his Gallerie. Those clients who purchased the pieces they now own have appreciated them thru the years and have come to realize how different and unique they are compared to most art you see in galleries. Some have an eye for art but no one will ever have Timothy's eye for the real artists with lasting talent. He had the best taste in art and I always appreciated his help along with the Gallerie staff. We will all miss him. Wayne Brinson Holder, Brinson Interiors, Inc., Point Clear, AL

Sending love and prayers for peace and comfort to Timothy´s family and friends. He was so loved and will forever hold a special place in my heart and in my memories. We met at TULA after I graduated from college and got a studio space downstairs for creating my paintings. He had his gallery upstairs and I would often walk upstairs to visit all of the galleries and their owners. I spent many days of my 20 years at TULA sitting on the floor in his office just talking about art and getting to know the sweet and wonderful person he was. I felt like he was another brother to me and I loved him dearly. He left a beautiful mark on all who knew him and I will treasure my memories of him. I give thanks to God for his life. He touched many lives with his love.

Tim and I worked together in the 1980´s at Citizens Jewelry in Atlanta. He was so funny, smart and entertaining! All of us girls who worked with him were attracted to his good looks.
RIP Tim. We will see you again.

I´ve had the privilege of knowing Timothy since the Tula years, and the memories we shared will forever remain close to my heart. His sharp, acerbic wit and hilarious sense of humor never failed to bring joy to those around him. Timothy had a remarkable gift for surrounding himself with incredible people-Amon, Dan Cameron, David Ivie, Corey McIntosh, Carl, Penny... and, of course, the many talented artists he championed throughout his life.
His taste in art and design was impeccable, a true reflection of his refined spirit. I always cherished hearing stories from his time in Paris, where his life intertwined with fascinating people and experiences. Timothy´s presence was magnetic, and his legacy will live on through the art, friendships, and memories he leaves behind.
The photo shown is a image of Timothy (and some others I'm sure you will recognize) from when he lived with Corey in Midtown, a time filled with creativity,
Timothy, your light, laughter, and love for beauty will remain with us always.

Tim and my mother met while attending design classes at the Art Institute of Atlanta. We were fortunate to watch his journey and enjoy his friendship. He was a good friend and he will be sorely missed. I am forever grateful for his support while I rescued cats and kittens. One of the kittens was his beloved Chickpea. Our condolences to Tim's parents and family, to his gallery family and the many artists who have been a part of his life. We love you Tim, Lisa and Rachel.

I first met Timothy in 2001 when we were on an Insight tour of Greece. I was the 15th person in that tour group. Because I was a widow of 18 months most of the females ostracised me, fearful that I was after their husbands.
Timothy took me under his wing and gave me the friendship I needed.
I remember we were at the tomb of the unknown soldier and I wanted to see what was carved into the stone behind it, so ventured much closer than was permitted. I was to be arrested but Tim just collected me and took me away. He treated me like a sister for the rest of our time together.
I'm so sorry for his loss. May he rest in perfect peace.

I met Timothy at The Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead at a Jada Loveless event. We had many mutual friends but had never met. I introduced myself and we started talking as if we had known each other for years. He gave me so much joy! His sense of humor was fabulous, his joyful love of life was contagious. Spending time with him was always an exciting adventure. He was steadfast and unforgettable. He was my spiritual brother and my favorite person to cut loose with. We went to Paris for 10 days with my 16 year old son Jacob in 2016. We had a blast! I thank God for every minute I spent with our Wonderful, Beautiful AMAZING Timothy

Timothy had a hunger for Art and Life in general. We spent many hours talking on WhatsApp as I live in London. He wanted to bring in more photographers into the gallery and I loved his passion and how he wanted to find out everything about how the art was created. We finally met in London on the 4th October 2022 and had a wonderful lunch together. He will be really missed and I am so sorry for those that are close to him and to the art world in general as he was a very special man. Julia Fullerton-Batten

I am forever grateful to Timothy for taking time with me and introducing me to his wonderful world of art when I wandered into his little gallery on Bennett Street so many years ago. Because of Timothy I have had the joy of living with Isabel and Haidee early on, more recently with America and Hunt Slonem, and many others in between. Timothy enriched the lives of so many people. Thank you. Dara DeHaven

Tim, you were such a bright light in this world. I´m not sure you knew how much the joy of your appreciation of art, jewelry, and all things beautiful was shared with others. It certainly was shared with me and had an impact on my own appreciation of beauty. I miss your sweet spirit, quick wit and striking charm. Rest in peace, my friend.

My condolences to his family and wide circle of friends who loved Timothy. I so enjoyed the many conversations we had about art, culture and how Atlanta could best support the creative community. He was such an interesting, intelligent and generous man who will be greatly missed. Sending love .

A super fun memory was going to a U2 concert in Dublin, where he posted that he would have preferred to be at a Liberace concert (to he fair, he posted that BEFORE U2 started). We had a great time bonding and wandering the streets of Dublin, viewing the Book of Kells, touring the art museum, and enjoying time with my old friend at a pub. It wasn´t Timothy´s dream to be there, but he was all in on my and Cathleen´s dreams of being there. Lots and lots of love was at the heart of all the time I spent with Timothy for many years.

I met Timothy in 2002 in what would change my life for the better. Like all of Timothy's friends, we had a unique connection. He was a gentle mentor, walking companion, someone who I could count on for anything, equipped with a wild sense of humor, and deeply connected to celebrating people. He was a sensitive soul, an authentic brother to me, and he showed up all the time in our 22 year friendship. All topics we discussed whether difficult or easy, were open to exploring together. He was often the strength necessary for me to get through the day. He took me under his wide wings and showed me the way in wisdom, kindness, love, and peace. He was a rare soul indeed which lives in all he encountered.
Timothy, sending love and peace. Until we meet again.

Timothy: was the kindest person I knew.
He invited me into this beautiful tribe of Artists for 30 years.
These are three of his international artists that helped Timothy to grow one of the leading galleries in the southeast. I was able to meet and become friends with each of them over the years. Their commitment to Timothy to produce exceptional art was so evident when you entered their homes and studios.
Thank you, Timothy, for expanding by eyes to the beauty that these artists created and continue to create for our community.
Love to all

The most intelligent man I ever met, and the most generous with his time and knowledge. Timothy gave me the most insightful advice about how to create my jewelry business - and he knew it all. A wonderful and kind soul, beautiful inside and out. I'll miss his presence terribly - we all will. Love, Kathy Spetz
