Timothy Wentworth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 7, 2005.
Timothy B. Wentworth

No. Berwick, ME; Timothy B. Wentworth, 51, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on September 6, 2005 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Dover, NH on November 20, 1953, the eldest son of Willis and Marilyn (Varney) Wentworth. He was a graduate of Noble High School Class of 1972. On July 21, 1973, he married the love of his life, Cheryl D. Chadbourne. Together they raised their six children in the home that Tim built with help from family and friends.

For over thirty years, Tim worked for Genest Concrete in Sanford, ME. He also owned and operated the Great Green Barrier Company with his son Zeke.

Tim was a strong man of good judgement with a big heart. He loved watching his children play sports, riding in his corvettes, spending time with the Vetteheads on his computer, and most recently helping his son Zeke build his own home next door. Tim will be remembered as an honest, intelligent man who had the ability to figure out how any thing worked and the ingenuity to fix it.

Tim is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Ezekiel and his fiancée, Katie Soucy, and daughters Autumn, Alyssa, and Ashley all of No. Berwick, and daughter Abby of Seward, AK. He leaves his mother, Marilyn and brother, Tylor and his wife, Julie all of Berwick and his sisters, Dolly Bolduc and her husband, Dale, and Stacey Camire and her husband, David all of No. Berwick. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Everett Chadbourne, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, his sister-in-law, Patsy Koelker and her husband, Thomas all of No. Berwick as well as his sister-in-law, Judith Garrett of So. Berwick. He leaves several nieces, nephews, and aunts, including a favorite Aunt Louise Varney of Rockland, ME

Tim was predeceased by his father, Willis and his son, Zachary in 1995.

Tim was a quiet, humble, and private man, and so per his wishes there will be no visiting hours. A private service will be held at the Wentworth family cemetery in Berwick, ME. He is deeply loved and will be missed by all.

Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to donate to either The Zachary Wentworth Memorial Scholarship Fund, SAD60, Attn: Lynn Thyng, P.O. Box 819, No. Berwick, ME 03906 or to The Mass General Hospital Burn Service, Gray Bigelow 1302, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114-2792.

Tim’s family would like to thank our four brave heroes, Hank, Greg, Jerry, and Adam, AMR of Massachusetts, Inc. and the Anna Jaques Hospital, as well as Dr. Colleen M. Ryan, MD and the talented, tireless staff of the Mass General ICU Burn Center. We also thank our family and friends for their support and the outpouring of prayer during this difficult time.

Arrangements are by the McIntire-McCooey Funeral Home, 301 Main St., So. Berwick, ME 03908.

Our sympathy, sent to the Wentworths

"Life is eternal & Love is immortal

And death is only a horizon;

And a horizon is nothing but

The limit of one's sight.

Death is not extinguishing the light

It is putting out the lamp

Because the dawn has come."

The poem, below, reminded us of Tim .

By Shana Paradis (at age 13)

Live it Up!

Life has no limits,

Although it must end.

Never stop shooting for dreams,

And always appreciate each friend.

Treat each breath like it is the last

Keep your words warm and true.

And if you follow my advice,

There is a wonderful life for you!

In Love & Peace,

Melisa (Boston)Meeks

I know that I'm not a close family member or friend. But working at Cumbies for so many years I felt a true need to express my sorrow for your family.Every time Tim would come in, he would bring a smile to my face. He was kind and understanding human being. He always had the right thing to say.

To see him in the corvette was so wonderful. He wasn't at all, like look at me. I'm so very great. Like some people you see. Driving that car around, you could see a man in complete happiness. With that unforgetable hat.... I'm just a townie here in the big North Berwick. Living a simple life. But I hope I'll never forget such a kind soul..

One day the pain will subside. But everyday there will be a moment you will think of him, miss him , but remember you had the chance to know and love a good man. I hope you will find peace with this....

Your family has been on my mind....

Just one day at a time, will get you to the next one...

Take care, Laurie
