Heartfelt condolences to family and may God continue to strengthen each of you during your bereavement. My family grew up knowing the McElroy family in Macon, Ga. When Jonee and Tina returned to Macon to film a movie about Baby of the Family, my children and I was chosen to be in the movie. We rehearsed and shot scenes at the Douglass theatre. Unfortunately, the main leading lady was unable to come to Macon due to personal reason but, the experience was overwhelming to us to be chosen among many who auditioned for the parts. I, myself wasn't there to be a part just wanted my children to be part of it. Jones said, I want you in the movie, too. I made them laugh because I told them I brought the children. It was an honor to meet and spend time with her, Jones and the filming crew. Jones, Afrca, Thoughts and prayers from The Brown's family Macon, Ga.

Tina was my mentor at the Sapelo Island Writers Retreat. As a writer, she encouraged & critiqued my work in a very positive way. I shall always cherish her talent & wisdom. This "Baby of the Family" will forever remain one of the highly acclaimed authors of the Southern culture.

I was in her presence last June, and I was so excited to meet her. She was so down to earth. I asked her new work. She said she was working on something and just sent it off to her publisher. I was sadden to here of her passing. We both resided on St. Simons Island, GA. I do hope they publish her recent work. RIH Tina.
