TINA PINE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 9, 2013.
Tina Diane Pine, 53, of Statesville, NC, fell asleep March 5th, 2013 in Port Orange, FL. She is at home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held 6-7 pm (today) Saturday, March 9th, 2012 at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm. Tina was born on August 8th, 1959 to Tommy and Patsy Evans in Statesville, NC. She was also loved and deeply cared for by her grandparents, Paul and Mamie Evans. She went on to attend South Iredell High School and completed her high school education at Daytona Beach Community College. She was an entrepreneur who began a construction cleaning business that she eventually sold in order to realize her dream of being a restaurateur like her Uncle Harold and Aunt Allie. She eventually owned and operated two restaurants, the Countryside Café' and the Countryside Café, too, lovingly known by patrons near and far as "The Cow Place". In addition to her love of cooking, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening and serving others. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Stuart Pine; her sons Justin Gaynor and Andrew Pine; two grandchildren, Sebastian and Ayden Gaynor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Urban Youth Impact, 2823 North Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407, Phone: 561-832-9220 - Fax 561-832-9245. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to God for all the faithful who have been praying for us and all involved as we honor and celebrate the life of our dear sister in Christ.

A few weeks ago I suddenly had a picture come into my mind of Tina. I thought that I should try to go online to find out if she still lived in the area or not.
We were friends in grade school and junior high, and she used to come and sleepover sometimes.
The other day I finally remembered to do the search, and was shocked to see her name come up with the obituary.
I am delighted that she found a new life in Florida, and had a family and her own business.
Tina could always outrun me in relay races, and I imagine that she is running circles around in heaven. Condolences to her family.
