Todd Hackbarth Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 16, 2025.
Todd Douglas Hackbarth, aged 61, of Evergreen, CO. Passed away on January 30, 2025 in Quartzsite, AZ. Born on February 23, 1963.

Todd's life was one of dedication to his family and his business.

Todd moved to Denver from Minneapolis in 1983, later settling in Evergreen, Colorado in 2004. He started his own business, T. Hackbarth Roofing in 1990. As a third-generation roofing contractor, he instilled the values of hard work and integrity into the business, which he proudly passed onto his sons, representing the fourth generation. Known for his directness and honesty, Todd built not only roofs but also lasting relationships with his customers, many of whom became close friends.

Family was the cornerstone of Todd's life. He was a devoted father who took great pride in raising his sons, Adam, Jacob, and Kyle, teaching them to take pride in their work, and always be there for each other and their families. He is survived by his former wife Valerie Hackbarth, whom he was married to for 24 years. His love for them knew no bounds.

An avid outdoorsman, Todd embraced the beauty of the Rocky Mountains with enthusiasm. Whether camping, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, or playing putt-putt, he cherished these moments with his family and friends. In the last few years, he became an avid Harley rider. He owned a 2018 Road Glide for friends to ride, and a 2003 Silver 100th Anniversary Road King. His Road King was his pride and joy. He spent many hours riding, making new friends along the way, (which are too many to mention). He especially enjoyed visiting his Uncle Dave and Aunt Barb in Texas. He had a special place in his heart for his riding brothers and he loved you all!

Todd is survived by his sons; Adam (Samantha), Jake (Sarah) and Kyle (Rekha) Hackbarth. He was a proud Grandpa to Talon, Jillian, Roan, Hope, Rosalynn, and Aspen, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.

The service will be held at the Church of the Transfiguration, 27640 Highway 74, Evergreen, CO, at 11:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Evergreen Elks Lodge #2363, 27972 Iris Drive, Evergreen, CO, at 12:00 pm.

Todd's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will be forever cherished by those who knew him. He was fond of saying "Laugh With Me"! It is heartbreaking knowing we will not be able to pick up the phone and call Todd for some to see what's up, get some advice, talk football, or just bs, and even worse knowing that he will never be calling back.... He will be dearly missed. We can all hear him say as he would be leaving a simple "Love Ya Buddy".

I didn't know Todd real well. He was a good friend to my brother Roofer. He was a good person just from the times I seen him. My prayers go out to his Family and friends. I'm so sorry for your loss. Todd will be riding high in heaven. He will not be forgotten.

I met Todd sometime in the early 90s I recognized in him the same as he saw in me...a dedication to do the best job possible. When I need a roofer or advice on a roof repair for one of my clients I would always call Todd. This was a reciprocal agreement. He would call me if there was a masonry repair or problem on one of his jobs. This led to a long friendship of over 30 years. I will miss him greatly. He was one of the good ones! RIP brother.

Todd was my cousin. Our dads were close brothers and our families spent lots of time together. I have many memories of those get togethers, like shooting clay pigions, butchering chickens, shooting bottle rockets at each other, torchering frogs, guitars and accordians ect.. We grew up, drifted apart, had families and re-connected later in life. I was happy I got to spend time with Todd these recent years, both in Colorado and when he came to Minnesota. I know he was happy at the end. I will miss him, his visits and phone conversations. Rip cousin.

Todd and I recently began commenting to each other on Facebook. Todd is my cousin and its sad that we haven't spent time together for years. We only got together when we were kids and our families would get together in Minnesota. I wish we would have shared more memories.
