I was so saddened to hear about the loss of Todd. He was such a fun person to be around and so creative. For many years we kept in touch via social media and always said we would get together. I truly regret not making that happen. My heart goes out to his family, especially his sweet daughter who he was and still is so proud of. Sending my most heartfelt condolences to all.

Professor Todd was a wonderful teacher and an even better human being. He taught me Digital Skills a couple of years ago. He would also bring us donuts and make us laugh with his silly voices. When I was doubting myself, he'd be so encouraging and kind to me. I miss him. Every time we were around him, he'd always put a smile on our faces. His words and his kindness will forever live with me, and I strive to be a better person because of him. I pray that his soul rest in peace

I had Todd as my Digital Skills teacher at LCAD, he got me to enjoy speaking with my classmates more throughout the semester, improve my animation skills, and told me I'd write my own ticket in my career. He was a good man with a warm heart, lifting up his students and his peers, and I feel very honored to have been a part of that, for however brief it was. He'll continue to live on as a source of inspiration for me, just as I'm sure he will for so many others, may God rest his soul.

I had the pleasure of working with Todd on The Simpsons Movie and The Princess and the Frog, and you couldn´t find a nicer person. Always positive, always smiling, always looking to brighten other peoples´ days. A committed and talented artist, and a really dedicated father. We miss you, Todd.

I was lucky enough to meet and work with Todd in 2007 when I started my first job in the animation industry as a general production assistant on The Simpsons Movie. And then I got to work with him again on Princess and the Frog. Thank you, Todd, for always being a bright spot in my days. You always had a smile and a little twinkle in your eye. Thank you for being my friend. Love, Alice.

I too am honored to have known Todd not just as a colleague, but as a friend. I had the great privilege of working on multiple animation projects with him through the years. His work was always thoughtful, his efforts tireless, as he strived for the highest quality. Of course, we all know this effort and generosity extended tenfold into his care for others.
As a teacher, he poured this dedication into his students, passing on the legacy and craft he loved with patience and encouragement.
I will continue to hear his voice in my mind as I revisit the conversations we shared about work and life, and I know his legacy will live on in the students, colleagues, and friends he inspired.

So sad to hear this. Todd was one of my favorite animation instructors at Laguna College of Art and Design. He was a very skilled animator and instructor, and was extremely helpful during the tumultuous semester of spring 2020. He spoke highly and often of his daughter, and it´s clear how much he adored her. He also showed the class what he was working on for his professional work (Lucky Charms commercials if I´m remembering right). As a college senior, it was so inspiring to get an inside look to what it´s like to be an animator. My heart goes out to his family and friends.

So sorry to hear of Todd's passing. I knew Todd in junior high school and high school before he moved and he was always that guy who made sure you weren't left out. Connected again a dozen years ago through social media and enjoyed following his fatherhood journey and career. Rest in peace Todd, you will be missed.

I had the opportunity to work with Todd on many animation productions over the years at Disney, Warner Bros and some TV commercials. Beyond being talented, capable and professional, Todd was friendly, cheerful, positive, kind and considerate. He was an encourager and a problem solver. If he didn´t know the solution at first, he would keep at it until he figured it out. I appreciated our friendship and will miss his thoughtful conversations and upbeat spirit. I know his faith in his savior Jesus Christ was a firm foundation in his heart, and he is now at peace and rest in His everlasting love.

Todd and I met while working at Music Plus in 1981 and immediately hit it off. So much so that the next year, we rented an apartment together and became roommates. We went to concerts together, got each other through breakups with girlfriends and had so many laughs.
At the time, Todd was going to school to be an accountant, but he hated it. What he really wanted to do was draw, but didn't think it was a stable career. I told him it's a long life and he should go for what would make him happy. So he stopped studying to be an accountant and began to plan his career as an artist. That took a lot of courage, but he was always glad he took that path.
Todd, I wish I'd known you were sick. I would have loved to have had at least one more conversation and a laugh or two. I'll see you on the other side, buddy. I love you.

Todd Jacobsen was a wonderful friend and mentor. I first got to know him on "The Prince of Egypt" animated feature where Todd was an awesome teacher and generous coworker. He always had time to talk and ask for guidance on a scene. Years later, I always enjoyed hearing about his daughter, Leila. He posted fantastic photos of her progress in school and how well she has done throughout her school career. You could tell that Leila was his pride and joy and what he lived for! What a dedicated father and a great friend and artist!!!! He will be missed by all that knew him.

I will always remember how much you love your daughter. Though I never met her, I felt i knew her and saw her grow up from all of your posts. That´s the mark of a good and proud father. That´s the mark of an outstanding humanbeing. Well done, Todd. You have earned your wings. Rest in God´s eternal peace.

As a fellow animator I met Todd briefly during a project at Warner Bros. He was so talented, yet humble, always learning and contributing. He had that Zen "Beginners Mind", learning new skills but also happy to pass on what he had learned to other younger artists, a rare thing! I only worked with Todd on one project but I'll remember him as a man of faith, talent and integrity, and his greatest love was his daughter, and I just want her to know that in the brief time I worked with her Dad, he thought of nothing but her, was trying to lay a strong foundation of care for her, and wanted nothing but the best for her. RIP Mr. Jacobsen.

Todd was an amazing soul whose energy, and smiling face is present in my heart and mind. I had the pleasure of sharing some amazing, funny, and heartfelt memories with him in the USC Trojan Marching Band Drum line. We were able to create everlasting memories years later after both of us changed careers - especially sharing our favorite food (sushi!) and drink with my wife, Linda, and Todd on Friday evenings after work. We recently spent the afternoon with him and had dinner with Lori and Leila. We´re grateful for the quality time and laughter we shared. Todd followed his passion and let his talent flow.
Rest in peace, Brother.

Todd was a dear friend for over 30 years. We shared a love for great music, among other things in the arts. We attended so many shows together. Being with him enhanced the experience ten fold. Mostly, l will cherish his unrelenting loyalty as a dear friend. His loss is devastating, but the blessing of his friendship far outweighs my deep sadness. I am eternally grateful for his presence in my life. Rest in Peace, my dear friend
