Todd McClintock Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 19 to Apr. 20, 2007.
McCLINTOCK TODD REED
Son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson, true friend, died April 17, 2007 after 26 years of sharing his love and laughter, and enduring a courageous battle with leukemia. Todd was born February 1, 1981 in Pittsburgh, PA, and raised in Upper St. Clair, the fifth of eight children in a close, loving family. He graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 1999 where his favorite activity was varsity soccer. Todd is a 2003 graduate of Penn State University where he followed in his father's footsteps by majoring in accounting and was active in Pi Kappa Phi fraternity. After graduation, Todd's adventurous spirit led him to Colorado where he enjoyed several months living with friends and skiing the slopes. Todd then moved to Philadelphia where he was employed by YMSR Certified Public Accountants, and continued to enjoy the "20-something life" with his friends. In November 2005, Todd was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. During his seventeen month battle with leukemia and throughout his life, Todd was an inspiration with his quiet strength, kind heart, determination, and sense of humor. Surviving and celebrating Todd are his parents, Sue and Bruce McClintock, his brothers and sisters: Dave, Marta, Kristin, Katie, Lauren, Karen and Matt, their spouses, Sarah, Pat, and Shane, niece Marly, nephews Ridge, Carter and Tyler, and grandmother Dorothy Eighmey. He is also the grandson of the late Verle Eighmey and Dorothy and Russell McClintock. A memorial service celebrating Todd's life will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Upper St. Clair, PA with Dr. Jim Gilchrist, Rev. Gail King and Rev. Hetz Marsh officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Todd McClintock Memorial Research Fund, created to support research to find a cure for T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in young adults. Checks payable to the Todd McClintock Memorial Research Fund can be mailed to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, River Walk Corporate Center, 333 E. Carson Street, Suite 441, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Arrangements by the MILTON E. HAMEL MORTUARY.

I didn't know Todd but my husband, Mike, and daughter, Amberly, belonged to Indian Princesses with Bruce years ago. We were so sorry to hear of Todd's passing. Having lost our son, Bryan, in 2004, we can certainly empathize with your loss. Nothing can replace a child but know that he is with many who love him in heaven and will still be with you here just in a different way. Again, we are so sorry for your loss and wanted you to know prayers are being sent your way.
With our deepest condolences,
Kathy & Mike Burch

Dear Family,
I didn't know Todd very well, he was one of my son's ages, and I know marta, and kristen, as I worked at the high school in the infamous "commons". I just found out about your son, and wanted to tell you how terribly sorry I was to hear of his passing. My younger son died at ST. Clair hospital on June 24, 2007, so I really do know how you must be feeling. If I can be of any assistance please feel free to contact me. Again my sympathies.
Sincerely,
Marilyn Oswald

Todd's Family and Friends-
I had the pleasure of meeting Todd in Philadelphia through some high school friends that attended Penn State. Since we were both tackling the accounting world, we always had something to talk about and I had a friend to complain about the long busy season hours. He was a good man and will be sorely missed by everyone. My thoughts are with all the family and friends during this difficult time.

Through my friendship with Marta, I have followed Todd’s journey. It was one filled with courage, strength, hopes, sadness and an abundance of love. He has been a great teacher to all that followed his incredible journey, teaching us of these qualities in our own lives. It has been inspirational to hear how the entire McClintock family surrounded him with the greatest love and support. While Todd is not here to touch and hold anymore, your connection with him continues. I wish you each comfort and grace as you discover this new relationship with him.
