Todd Skuce

I knew Todd in the 1990's when he was at Danfoss. He was a customer of REHAU, where I work, and we consulted on many radiant heating projects. He was a smart engineer, and we shared interest in mechanical systems. I always looked forward to his calls, since his questions were inevitably so well thought out and unique I knew I would have to work hard to make a technically satisfactory response.

We met only a few times and he talked about his wife and riding his cycle to work in wintertime, I respected him instantly and that never wavered.

I read of his passing in the ASHRAE Journal magazine just a few weeks ago with shock and disbelief. How could this young guy, a year younger than me, active and positive and just beaming with intelligence and health, pass away?

We haven't spoken in more than 5 years, but his passing is a loss to all who knew him.

I attended school with Todd from Kindergarten through grade 12 and can't think of anything but good and kind attributes he posessed, he was truly one of the finest people I knew. I am very sorry for your loss.

I was so shocked and deeply saddened learning of Todd's passing...such a great guy! Although I lost touch with Todd after our high school days, I can only imagine the incredible husband and father he was. Through the many years I knew him (all through elementary school and high school) he was always known as the fun-loving, down-to-earth, great guy! Keep the memories you have of Todd close and that will help bring you strength. His memory will continue to shine and never fade....

I only have memories of Todd as a somewhat mischevious little boy. Our family would travel the blazing hot summers from BC to Saskatchewan to see "the cousins" when we were children. I worked with Todd at Danfoss. Todd and I became first time fathers at about the same time. This shared bond of fatherhood was our connection, and the one through which Todd shared his love for and pride in his family. Todd will be missed by many, but remembered by many more having touched people as he did me; thus creating a rich personal and professional legacy.

Todd was one of the ten gentlest, caring, customer oriented, respectful persons I have known in my life. He is a man I would desire to have my own children learn of the values I saw Todd display daily. Not just the Skuce family and the Eng A family, - but --- I personally believe -- the whole world has lost a great one in losing Todd. I believe that his children have had time to learn some of his values and I hope they can continue them on in their lives. It is the very biggest of shoes to fill. Today I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Todd's passing. I am an engineer and colleague of Todd's. Through the nature of our work we shared meals together as we discussed work on a semi-regular basis. Todd's kind heart was obvious to me - he always spoke in a proffessional manner and often spoke of his family (especially his kids). On one occasion he went out of his way to ease the pains of a mistake I made; through that experience I felt as though we became working friends. I recall only two months ago Todd suggested we go for a beer after an ASHRAE meeting but I was too sick and declined. I wish I could have had that chance to chat with him once more but I know my sadness is nothing compared to your loss.
