Tom Corliss Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 26 to Aug. 30, 2023.
Tom Corliss, 87, of Gardnerville, Nevada, passed away on Saturday August 19, 2023, peacefully at home.

Ralph B. Corliss (Tom) was born in Battle Creek Michigan to Helen and Ralph on November 3, 1935. He was the second of four children. The family moved to California in 1945. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Tom married his first wife, Carmella Dargenzio in 1957 and they had three children, Cathy, Tommy and Tony. Later in life, he met and married the love of this life, Lucy. Lucy had three children, Jennifer, Charlie and Lisa, whom Tom treated as his own. They just celebrated 43 years of marriage. Tom worked for Pacific Telephone where he retired after 32 years of service.

Tom was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors and spent many vacations at Lake Crowley. He was a boxing enthusiast and never missed a chance to watch a match. Tom was a member of Grace Community Church for 26 years, enjoying fellowship at the men's breakfast, meeting many wonderful families, and involved with many youth activities that lead to long lasting friendships.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Helen and Ralph, his sister Marcia, and his son Charlie.

Tom is survived by his wife Lucy, his brother Terry, his children Cathy, Tommy, Tony, Jennifer and Lisa. His Grandchildren Laura, Cristina, Matthew, Jake, Allison, Jaynie, and Kyle, and his Great Grandchildren Mia, Kaelyn, Everett, Clara, and Charlotte. Tom was cared for by his wonderful caregiver Annie for the last few months. She brightened his days with her kind heart and attentive care.

Tom will be honored by his sons on a final fishing trip where his ashes will be scattered.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 7, 2023 at Grace Community Church, 2320 Heybourne Rd., Minden, NV 89423. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grace Christian Academy in memory of Tom Corliss.
