Tom Waluk Obituary

Tom Waluk, 73, of RR 3, Wyalusing, Pa., passed away on Monday, April 14, 2008, at home from a brief illness.

He was born in Scranton, Pa., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rohe, and was raised as an infant by Burton and Lizzie Jones of Wyalusing.

Tom graduated from Wyalusing High School in 1953.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959.

He retired from GTE OSRAM in 1993 after 31 years of service.

Tom married the former Marilyn Irvine, they celebrated 52 wonderful years on Jan. 29, 2008.

He was a member of the Wyalusing Lodge No. 618 F.&A.M., Union Royal Arch Chapter of Towanda, Towanda Gun Club, and the National Rifle Association.

Tom was a devoted husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his family.

He liked to hunt, fish and travel. He found great pleasure in country living, and enjoyed riding four wheeler on his property.

Surviving are: his wife, Marilyn, at home; two sons, Brian and companion Beth Colby of R.D. 2, Wyalusing; David, at home; two grandsons, Beau and friend Gala, both in the Armed Forces in Fort Jackson, S.C., Brock and fiancée Ashley, of Highspire, Pa.; great grandson, Dagyn; Shelli Waluk of RR 3, Wyalusing, Pa.; sisters, Bernadine Burke of Conklin, N.Y., Cathy Pedro of Dallastown, Pa., Mary (Dick) Taffe of Dushore, Pa.; brothers, Larry and Jo Rohe of Dushore, Pa.; brother-in-law, Ronnie and wife Nancy of Wysox, Pa.; brother–in-law, Bob and wife Marion of Wysox, Pa.; brother-in-law, Donald Irvine of Wysox, Pa.; and his several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by: Mr. and Mrs. Burton Jones, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rohe, Charles Irvine and Helen Irvine Bishop; a sister in-law, Odessa Irvine; and brother-in-law, John Burke.

Friends and family are invited to call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008, at McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church Street, Wyalusing, Pa.

A Masonic funeral service will be conducted at 10:45 a.m. in the funeral home by Wyalusing Lodge No. 618 F.&A.M.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday, in McHenry Funeral Home, with Rev. Diane Prentice, pastor of the Wyalusing United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Standing Stone Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to: HOPS Ambulance Association, Inc. c/o James Seipler, RR 1, Box 280, Rome, PA 18837, or the Herrick Township Volunteer Fire Company, RR 3, Wyalusing, PA 18853, in memory of Tom Waluk.
