Tomasa Rosario Bonilla, 95 of New Haven died peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Emilio Bonilla. Tomasa was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on March 7, 1923, a daughter of the late Eulogio and Isabel Rodriguez Rosario. She had resided in New Haven for most of her life, and had also lived in Tampa, FL for nineteen years. Tomasa was a long time member of Star of Jacob Christian Church of New Haven, and a former member of Light of the World Christian Church, Tampa, FL. Tomasa is survived by six daughters, Ruth Bonilla, Maria Bonilla and Zoraida (Ismael) Roman of New Haven, Doris (Luís) Suarez of North Haven, Abigail (José) Alicea of Stamford and Lydia (José) Torres of West Haven, three sons, Luís (Migdalia) Bonilla of Sabana Seca, PR, Wilfredo (Merida) Bonilla of Riverview, FL and Rafael Bonilla of Orange County, FL, six sisters, Esther Rosario and Luz Maria Rosario of New Haven, Elisa Rosario and Julia Rosario of Vega Baja, and Isabel Rosario and Nilva Sein of Sumter, SC, twenty one grandchildren, twenty five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ines and Mercedes Rosario, and eight brothers, Eulogio, Benito, Anastasio, Esteban, Honorario, Francisco, Samuel and Carmelo Rosario, and one grandson, Ricardo Bonilla. Tomasa's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday April 26th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Star of Jacob Christian Church, 506 Howard Ave., New Haven, with services beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, New Haven. The Washington Memorial Funeral Home, 4 Washington Ave, North Haven has been entrusted with arrangements. www.washingtonmemorialfh.com
