I knew Tom when he was an insurance agent and I was a field representative. I called on him often at his San Antonio offices. I have often thought of him over the years despite having lost touch. I recall in detail his brush with death when he was accosted by criminals outside one of the mini-storage facilities he insured. Today I ran across his obituary for the first time and felt compelled to write a note of condolence, albeit very late. Tom was a great man, always in great humor. And work ethic! He even went back to work after the mini-storage incident mentioned above. He is missed by many.

Tom was much more than a friend to me and my family. He had a profound influence on me personally as well as professionally and I will always be grateful for the privilege of our friendship over the last 21 years. Tom taught me so much about business, relationships and enjoying life. Tom was a one of a kind class-act and one of the most respected people I have ever met. My sincere condolences to Doylene, Tiffany and Chelsey.

Tom was a incredible man and my boss for 23 years. He was professional and good natured, always bringing a smile to my face. Over the years, our relationship developed from boss and employee to mentor and mentee. He taught me so much in those early days and we remained close friends throughout the years. He was a significant part of my life and I will never forget him. My sincere condolences to Doylene, Tiffany and Chelsey.
