I studied with Toni in her small studio in Highland Park and then followed her to SMU. She was exacting, blunt, creative, earthy, and expected the best of us. She encouraged me at an early age to create dances which I loved!!! I am who I am today because of Toni Beck. Paul... I'm David Barnett and I worked with you at KERA 1969-70 as Stage Manager on the floor crew along with John Pritchett, Wes Pouliot, and Harold Bach. A lot of years and a lot of miles have flown, but I have never forgotten you or Toni... you were role models for more people than you will ever know.

Toni and I had a relationship beginning in 1970 as I was her student at SMU. Toni and I developed a friendship in the later years as I was her teacher. What an Honor. Teacher , choreographer, innovator, mentor. What else can I say.Her dynamic, spirited personality brought encouragement, knowledge. motivation and creativity into my life. Her influence has kept me moving, dancing, creating, to inspire, to touch, whoever has come in my path. Thank you. "Onward" she would say in her personal correspondences to me. "Onward "Toni. With deep sympathy and love to her husband and family. Mimmi Rounsavall

Paul, from the bottom of our hearts, Jim and I both send our love & prayers to you! Toni, was the most important part of our careers. Always wanting our stars to shine. With a heart bigger then Texas giving all she had to help others. I am honored to have been a part of that. Throughout the decades we cherished our friendship with her like family! She's no doubt dancing the halls in heaven!

Toni was a profound influence in my life. When I tried to tell her just that she would shrug those words off in her self effacing way. Over 40 years she was my dance teacher, my boss, my mentor, and ultimately my student. I respected, admired and loved her so very much, yet I would not call us close friends. I have saved a linen handkerchief which she gave me one Christmas and 13 handwritten notes that she mailed to me over the years. Always words of validation, encouragement and inspiration at times when I really needed it. She was gracious, kind, utterly remarkable, and oh so much fun. Countless lessons I have learned just being in her presence. I will cherish my vivid memories and miss her nonetheless.
My deepest sympathy to her husband, Paul, daughter, Leslie, family and all who loved her.

The world will miss Toni's infectious energy to gain power and strength, and confidence in life through Pilates. She absolutely changed my life from 2003 to 2010-11. She is the single most influential person ever in my life, and I am 74! The day I left Dallas I visited her at her home - the same day all 4 Presidents and their wives were visiting Dallas for the Bush Museum. I could hardly get to her home for all the secret service, but I did and brought her a miniature turtle. She loved turtles. We shared more than most friends over coffee and Pilates sessions and I believe we became unusual best friends. At least that's what she said. She was apprehensive and supportive when I decided to leave Dallas for Idaho. She was ALWAYS right on! I should have thought it through more as she suggested, but here I am in Idaho and missing my friend, Toni.
I have some great photos of her and hope I can post them somewhere on this site. Really great photos of our Toni. Oh, Toni, I've loved you so. my heart aches. We talked so often of life and death and it all comes around in my mind now that you is gone. Love you always, Dava

I will miss Toni. We met in a coffee shop from which we developed a long and meaningful relationship. Story teller, fashion icon, beautiful woman, inside and out. I will treasure our time together. Forever. I feel so very fortunate to have known Toni Beck.
