Yesterday

I remember Toni as the "older sister". She was always present in the background when I would hitch up with my friend, Dutch Wetzel and his brothers. Now he is my brother-in-law(Mary Doyle) and his protective sis is gone. Our family has lost a very nice woman. Ironically we are now the bereaved.

My friendship with Toni started "in the old days" when St. Luke's camp still existed. We were camp counselors and swimming instructors although I couldn't come close to Toni's aquatic expertise.
She was my maid of honor and we stayed in touch through the years. We both became teachers- no surprise
I remember her for her sense of humor (always calling her mom Rea ), her kindness and gentle spirit. Strong in her faith, she loved to qoute John O'Donohue. Her faith and gentle spirit guided her through her tremendous work with those who were grieving. Now we grieve the loss of her. My heart and prayers go out to her children, Rob and Melissa, her brother Dutch and sister Franny.

Toni was my BFF and cousin. Last year she held my hand when I lost my husband and then later reminded me how to smile and laugh once again. I was inspired by her kindness, her humor and will miss her every day. Goodbye my sweet friend I shall miss you dearly. Love, Leelee Robinson

As a young grade schooler at St. Luke's, I met Toni through my friendship with Franny. Toni was the older, wiser sister who gave lots of advice to the two of us who were trying to be cool and act blase. Toni was kind, tolerant, funny and, what I remember most, was her deep, protective love for Franny and her brothers. I am sad to hear of her death. There is now an empty space where her vitality and fun loving spirit used to fill. All my love and care to her family.

Toni offered hope and strength to everyone she met. She opened her heart and held all of us there when we didn´t know what to do next. She was our Sherpa while we each had to climb our own Mount Everest. The impact she made on my life was life changing and life giving. To say she will be missed is an understatement. My deepest sympathy to her family that she always spoke of with such love.
