Honeymoon Dallas, TX May, 1983 Fontainebleau Hotel. Tony performed "in the round" and somehow Tony made sure we were escorted right up front next to the stage and made it a special memorable night by recognizing that we were 22 years old at the time. Later, we were able to see him perform again on our 25th wedding anniversary in Las Vegas at the Hilton Hotel Casino. He was marvelous and his shows were unbelievable. Now after 40 years of marriage, we still love our memories of our honeymoon and the Hilton show in Las Vegas. RIP Tony, we will be forever blessed to have been able to see you perform.

Class act, top shelf, gentleman, walking on stage with that million-dollar smile, arms outstretched to us, and a sharp white suit jacket. What an appearance! When Tony first sang, "I left my heart in San Francisco", I was eight years old and living in San Francisco. Through out the decades every time I heard it on the radio, I would turn it up and sing along with him. It felt like singing with my favorite uncle. As time went by his music was enjoyed by five generations of my family. When I was married in 2018, on a ship on San Francisco bay, " I left my heart in San Francisco" was specifically on the playlist at the reception. When he performed in Sonoma County, I was thrilled to see him on stage and I will never forget his grace, charm, style and effervescent smile. He will always be in my heart. I had the privilege to meet Mr. Bennett in a renovated Art Gallery in Savannah, Georgia. His art was as inspiring as his music because I believe it came from his heart. What a heart he had...no one else like him. I was also able to attend a performance he did in a renovated old theatre in Savannah with his original gang. He loved to sing...He loved to interact with his audience. You could believe every word of every song because it was sung from his heart...every song. He was only supposed to perform an hour and he went on for almost two hours. He was happy! It was a day I will never forget...a treasure that I will hold on to in my life. Just knowing his was part of this life made my life richer in so many ways. A true inspiration for music, art, friendships and family. My deepest condolences to the Bennett family. The world will keep his legacy alive forever...I hope that brings some comfort and happiness your way. My uncle Tony Zoppi entertainment reporter, tv host and entertaiment director at the Riviera in LV.knew him when they were both getting started in NY.
My uncle had got him a gig in NY and he was so nervous the night of the show he didn't think he could go out on stage. My uncle said I'll be sitting right out in the audience just look for me.
He did that and they were friends forever.
I got to meet him when I was 15and went to his show on Chicago.

I had both the privilege and good fortune to see him in concert several times at the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset,MA. on several occasions, and also at the Bank of America Pavillion with the Count Bassie Orchestra. He may have been in his 80's, but it was the greatest experience of my life. There will never be another. Rest in Peace my friend. You've certainly earned it

Once again, the world has lost one of the world's greatest jazz entertainers who had the style and the grace of a true gentlemen. His singing technique of music was smooth and easy listening that will be part of music history for all eternity. Mr. Bennett was a legend who was well loved, and no doubt will be missed by all who knew him personally and professionally.

I first heard Tony sing in 1962 at a friend's apartment in Atlanta. There were no cds then; so, it was probably a record. I was 18 and fell in love with his voice. I have a few of his cds and records, but I particularly love his Duets albums because you can hear the joy he has in singing with so many well-known singers as he/they make comments during the session. I also love his paintings. He was truly a very talented man.

Tony Bennett was a man, a true patriot and a wonderful human being. He is probably the last of the greatest generations' talents. With him went a special form of class, for that is what he had. I watched the duet with Amy Winehouse, who was a little distressed and not feeling very confident. Tony was so very nice and compassionate to her. And she absolutely idolized him. He was what she thought him to be, a decent, respectful man. My parents song was "Because of You", they also were from the greatest generation. The words are beautiful, as are they are in all his songs. They also loved "I Left My Heart in San Francisco", a place they loved to visit. It was their second special song. My mother had a beautiful voice and would belt it out! So, God bless you, Mr. Tony Bennett and thank you for so many wonderful songs and memories. I have read every tribute and they're all beautiful. Thank God we had you in our lives. Thankfully, we have your recordings.

I saw stony Bennett in Park City Utah& his performance was sensational! I cried practically the whole time he reminded so much of my husband who had passed away a year before! His body, hair & action were exactly like my husbands! I´m so glad I got to see him before his passing! I´ll never forget him as B long as I live! I´m 92 years old, maybe I´ll see him in heaven!

I am genuinely saddened to hear of the passing of the legendary Tony Bennett. Was so honored to meet and converse with this gentleman two nights back to back while playing piano at Nino's Tuscany NYC{now Tuscany Steakhouse} January 17 & 18, 2006. I was doing steady Mondays there for awhile and the late great pianist Irving Fields who played Tues-Sat there at the time asked me to fill in for two weeks for him as he was Bahamas-bound. So it was during this time that Tony stopped in and was speaking with the hostess. I ceased my piano playing and went to meet him; ironically I was playing one of his standards at the time("What Are You Doing the Rest Of Your Life"). He complimented me on it; we stepped outside of the restaurant and chatted for awhile and I shared a CD or two of mine which he graciously accepted. The next evening unbeknownst to me..he and his future wife Susan were dining there yet I did not see him as my view was blocked. An hour later as they left..he approached the piano and he feigned a broken arm while tipping me $5.{*See pics of me at the tiny piano at Nino's here; these were taken 3 months later April 2006 }.I said "Mr. Bennett two nights in a row!" I then asked if I could tell him something and he signaled to Susan to wait(she was holding leftovers of their dinner). I told him that in 1993 I had written a song called "Thank You Tony Bennett". He said he'd be happy to hear it and get it to his record company..they then left. A more gracious entertainer you will not find. True legend. True to the Great American Songbook. RIP dear Tony you will be greatly missed.

One summer while vacationing in Cape Cod, my husband was waiting in the hotel lobby for our 3 children and me to join him for dinner. He turned his head and there was Mr. Tony Bennett most likely trying to have a few minutes to himself before his perfomance that evening at the local concert venue. He was so gracious when my husband asked if it would be okay if the kids and I could stop on our way to dinner to say hello quietly without attracting a crowd of others. He was so gracious to agree to that request and minutes later we all had the thrill of that vacation week! Tony Bennett...one of a kind...thank you ...rest in heavenly peace.
