Tony Bush Obituary
Tony worked for the State of Maryland for over 20 years at the Cheltenham Youth Facility and was at the start of his retirement. Tony was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 11578.
Tony loved to socialize with family and friends and was always the light of the party; his laugh would travel for miles.
In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his grandson, Demetri Hooper; sisters, Julia Lucile Bush-Farris (Marc), Betty Marie Bush and Alice Maureen Bush Baruwa; niece, Shantel Monique Bright; nephew, Kandeh Jr.; God-parents, Catherine and Fredrick Holton and a host of other relatives.
Tony leaves to cherish special memories his children, Tonisha Bush, Denita Whittaker Hooper (Leonard) and Tony Bush, Jr. (Courtney); four grandchildren, Juliyah Dickens, Kah'Niyah Bush, Jaheim Knott and Zaviana Bush; sisters, Annette Hebb (Quintin), Flora Bush-Gantt and Tina Marshall (Dennis); brother-in-law, Larry Baruwa; God-child, Latasha Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Friday, June 26, 2020 at Sacred Heart Church, 23080 Maddox Rd, Bushwood, MD 20618. Interment to follow at Sacred Heart Church cemetery. The family would be very grateful for monetary donations to help with the funeral expenses. Donations may be made directly to Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home via credit card, cash or certified check. No personal checks will be accepted.

I was so shock to hear today of Tony passing the Bush family was my friends his sister Julia and I were very close friends I just cannot believe it the family had been thru so much in the last 4 years but God have them in his arms and will give strength ,Annette and Flo you are the head of the family now stay strong I will be reaching out to you all soon, I still cannot believe this love Shirley ,Charnita and Mr.A.Briscoe.

The Medical Staff from Cheltenham Youth Detention Center sends sincere condolences to Mr.Tony's family, coworkers and friends. We will hold those that loved him in our prayers. He was always so kind, gracious and cheerful. He took care of our maintenance needs with a delightful attitude. He was always the perfect example of serving the Lord with a smile. Condolences to the Bush family. Tony will be truly missed we had some good times at work. He would come in dietary department and would tell jokes and carry on then he talking what you got to eat in here.. here Tony take this food get out of here mannnn good times.
