Tony Tharp

TONY THARP - Woodie Anthony "Tony" Tharp, age 66, of Daphne, AL, formerly of Columbus, MS, passed away December 11, 2022, at his residence.  Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Gunter Peel Chapel with Rev. Brad Creely officiating.  A graveside committal will be at 2:00 PM at Pine Forest Cemetery in Stewart, MS.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
     Mr. Tharp was born November 30, 1956, in West Point, MS, to Mary Peacock Tharp of Madison, MS, and the late Woodie L. Tharp.  He graduated from Washington School of Greenville, MS, and attended MS Delta Junior College and Mississippi State University.  Mr. Tharp worked as a body shop manager and service department manager at car dealerships having worked for over 20 years at Premier Ford of Columbus.  He loved Mississippi State and traveling.
     In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 31 years, Jonie Staggs Tharp of Daphne, AL, son, John Michael Stockton of Starkville, MS, daughter, Meredith Crocker and her husband Trey of Leaksville, MS, brother, Tim Tharp and his wife Mandy of Brandon, MS, sister, Suann Bennett and her husband Greg of Daphne, AL, and grandchildren, Hunter Tharp, Anna Crocker, and Olivia Crocker.
     Pallbearers will be Trey Crocker, Ronnie Vernon, Billy Scott, Curt Rankin, Lyle Bennett, and Davis Tharp.
     Memorials may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
