Tracey Melissa King was born to Donna and Michael King on May 6, 1971. Her parents were overjoyed. Tracey was born and raised in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn, NY, the hub of all cultural diversity and home of the West Indians. Tracey grew up on the main thoroughfare in Brooklyn - the infamous “Eastern Parkway”...Tracey’s roots were planted.
Growing up in the Crown Heights neighborhood gave Tracey a sense of culture, style, family, friendship and self. She was well known and loved by all that came into contact with her. Her great personality and sense of humor made you want to laugh even when the joke was on you.
Tracey had a large appetite for life and laughter, so it was not a surprise for Tracey to get stone dressed with hair and nails to match which commanded attention with her flock of friends in tow.
Tracey attended the New York City Schools and obtained an education from Holy Spirit School, Brooklyn, NY, John Jay High School, Brooklyn, NY and Borough of Manhattan Community College, New York, NY. She was working towards a degree in business.
One sunny day, the universe shifted and Tracey and Bobby met at the Kenmore Movie Theater. Bobby was enamored with Tracey and a courtship began. The blossoming relationship lead to the birth of Tracey’s twin, Alexis Ryan King “De Party Now Start!”
As the years progressed, Tracey’s health was compromised. However, it did not stop her from relocating to Lynchburg, VA for a fresh start and to enjoy her life. Tracey enrolled in the School For The Blind and worked as a receptionist at the Lynchburg Area Center For Independent Living. Tracey was an author of two books and received an Advance College Certificate at Central Virginia Community College in hopes of becoming a Psychologist.
Tracey will be truly missed. Her love and jovial energy will always be felt and carried on through all that knew her, interacted with her and loved her. Tracey came in quiet but left with a bang!
She leaves to mourn her parents, Donna and Michael King; her daughter, Alexis Ryan King; her siblings, Martin and Terry King and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends that will truly miss her.
