Traci Jacobson

Marion "Traci" Jacobson, 71, of Pingree Grove, Illinois (formerly of Prospect Heights), passed away peacefully at her home on March 30, 2025, surrounded by "her boys."

Born on August 23, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Traci was the daughter of Barney and Patricia (Vail) Shure. She attended Evergreen Park High School, Northern Illinois University, and Northeastern Illinois University. After graduation, she went on to dedicate over 30 years of her life to education, working as both a Special Education Teacher and Aide at Kirk School in Palatine and Highland Park High School.

On June 1, 1975, Traci married Robert Jacobson. Together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage filled with love and devotion. Traci found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She especially cherished moments with her grandchildren, Madelyn and Owen, and enjoyed traveling with her husband.

Traci is lovingly remembered by her husband, Bob; her sons, David Jacobson of DeKalb and Michael (Sarah) Jacobson of Elgin, and her grandchildren, Madelyn and Owen Jacobson. She is also survived by her brother, Mark Shure of Galena, sister, Lynn Carreon, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Barney and Pat Shure, her sister, Kathy Stoniecki, and her brother, Michael Shure.

A gathering of friends, visitation, and service will be held on Friday, April 25th from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Riverside Community Church, 37W130 Crane Rd., St. Charles, IL. The service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
