Tracie Percle Sowell

October 25, 1960 - November 8, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tracie Percle Sowell, who left us on November 8, 2024, after a courageous and inspiring battle with breast cancer. She was 64 years old.

Born on October 25, 1960, in Marrero, La, Tracie was the embodiment of love, resilience, and strength. She dedicated her life to her family, friends, community, and her precious kitties, leaving a legacy of kindness and compassion that will live on in all who were fortunate to know her.

Tracie had a remarkable ability to bring joy to others. Whether through her love for spontaneous travel, painting, playing music, wearing fabulous hats, gardening, or sharing her beautiful writings with everyone, she created memories that will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Lark Sowell, children: Lark Sowell and Lauren Migliore (Nik), grandson: Enzo Migliore, sister: Susan Vaughn (Don), nieces and nephews and numerous relatives and friends who will remember her as a source of unwavering love and support. She was predeceased by her parents Essie and Joseph Percle and her sister Cynthia Zeringue (Michael).

Tracie approached her battle with breast cancer with the same grace and determination that she brought to every challenge in her life. Her strength inspired those around her, and her courage serves as a reminder of the power of hope and perseverance.

A celebration of Tracie's life will be held on December 7, 2024, at Our Lady of the Angels Church Hall in Waggaman, La, beginning at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to SpayMart Thrift Store and Adoption Center or Karen T. Stall Research + Breast Institute (KTSRBI).

She will be deeply missed, but her love and light will continue to guide us every day.

We are celebrating Tracie“s life. We knew her for a short time, but each time we saw her, she was smiling, happy, and full of life! It was always evident how much she loved her family and she had a great faith and trust in God. We send our condolences to all your family.

I've known Tracie since we were teenagers. I don't have a sad memory of her. I don't ever remember a time where she wasn't having fun. From bon fires to corvettes, she was always having a good time. I will surely miss Tracie. I will keep her and Lark and family in my prayers.
