Travis Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 13, 2025.
Travis Lamar Davis, affectionately known as "Travo," passed away on February 11, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. He was born on October 30, 1972, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Betty Jean Davis and Lee Roy Davis.

Travis grew up in Roebuck, South Carolina, as the youngest of five siblings. He attended District 6 schools and later moved to Dayton, Ohio, in 1994 with his wife and child. He built a career as a chef at Bullwinkle's Top Hat Bistro, where he worked for approximately 15 years. During his time there, he formed deep connections with his colleagues, who considered him family.

Travis is survived by his two children, Tania and Travon Davis; his grandchildren, Kyrie and Mia Edwards; his caring ex-wife, Christie Haney; and his partner, Amy Kiser. He also leaves behind two brothers, Nick, and Corey Davis; two sisters, Jada Davis-Hunter (Ray) and Patrice Gilmore (Chaz); four nieces, Raven, Kiara, Mariah, and Imani; four nephews, Demarcus, Brandon, Brian, and MonEric; and his sister-in-law, Yolanda "Katina" Davis. Additionally, he is remembered by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

In Dayton, Travis gained an extended family that included honorary parents Calvin "JD" and Gloria Haney and honorary brothers Calvin Haney (Ramona) and Carlton Haney. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his brother Eric Davis and niece Erica Fagan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Main Street Clubhouse, located at 5425 N. Main St., Dayton, OH 45415.

Travis's warmth and presence will be deeply missed by those whose lives he touched.
