I am deeply saddened to just learn of Dr. Jeffers' passing. She and I were colleagues at Talladega College during my tenure there from 1988 to 1999. She was a positive influence on me during my formative academic years. My sincerest condolences to her entire family. Rest in everlasting peace, Dr. Jeffers.

I had the pleasure of learning from Dr. Jeffers during my years as a student at Talladega College (1989-1993). As I reflect upon her distinct voice...her contagious passion for poetry and African American Literature, I feel blessed and honored to have encountered such a beautiful star. May she continue to shine bright through everyone she touched and the generations we are connected to.

Our condolences to the Jeffers & Thompson Family! It was a pleasure meeting Trellie at the wedding of her grandson to our daughter! She´s shown continuous love and support to great grandsons, Kyle & Kody that we lovingly share! Seeing you again last year was wonderful; although the circumstances that brought us together were sad! Thank you for impacting our lives in such a positive way! May you rest in eternal peace!

Sincerely,
Willie & Glenda Solomon
