To Trent's family, I would like to express my deepest sympathy. I was very much saddened when I heard of his passing. Trent was my Boss when he worked in Ozona, TX for a short time. He became a good friend to me and my father who also worked with him and he kept in touch with us occasionally. We will forever miss him, his smile, his crazy laugh, but most of all his great spirit.

Dear Family,
My family and I were deeply saddened to learn of Trent's passing. Trent was such a "class act" of a person. I enjoyed having several classes with Trent while at Duncan High School. My father also coached Trent in football and remembers a young man of great character. Our thought and prayers are with you and your family.
With much sympathy,
Kim Humphrey Caldwell

May the God of all comfort, give you strength and love during this time. We are praying for you all. I enjoyed Trent when he came to Denver to sing in concert, I saw the sweet smile on his face as he sang as unto the Lord. I will miss my cousin!

I was shocked to learn this evening in a phone message from one of our fellow '74 DHS graduates, Randy Woods, of Trent's passing. My shock was followed by great regret that I did not pursue through our adult life the friendship we had while manning the front line together along with Reggie Minter for the DHS basketball team back in the day. What a great athlete Trent was. I still remember him running a punt back for a touchdown against Midwest City our senior year, would-be tacklers strewn in his wake all down the field. I last saw Trent at our 10th high school reunion in 1984 and he was already well on his way to professional success. There are so many things I respected and liked about Trent Grovey that I cannot begin to list them on an entry like this. I first played against him in 5th grade and with him in 7th grade. Never can I ever remember hearing a bad word said about Trent. Never did he treat me with anything but kindness, respect, and good humor. What a legacy as a man of God Trent has left and how many young lives he has touched. It is a privilege to say I was his friend and I will be at his funeral.

To the family of "Jab", I don't even know where to begin. I have known Trent all of my life. We even ended up going to the same college. I will forever cherish all of the memories. May God's grace and mercy be with u through this difficult time. Know that God will take care of you. Jab will forever live in my heart. He was and always will be my big brother, the Alpha Man. Rest in Peace.
