Trevor Shakespeare Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 18, 2025.
Trevor John Shakespeare, beloved son, brother, partner, father figure, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2025, in Juneau, Alaska, at the age of 43.

Born on September 20, 1981, in Sitka, Trevor was a lifelong Alaskan whose spirit mirrored the vast, untamed wilderness he cherished. From a young age, he found joy in the outdoors-casting a line into pristine waters, camping beneath wide-open skies, or navigating the backcountry on a hunting trip. In nature, Trevor was truly at home, living fully and deeply connected to the world around him.

Trevor had a particular love for gold panning, a pastime that combined his appreciation for Alaska's natural beauty with his quiet patience and sense of adventure. He could often be found at the river's edge, sifting through gravel with a practiced hand and an eye for the glint of possibility. Just as meaningful to him were long walks with his dogs-his loyal companions-who joined him on countless trails, always eager for the next shared journey.

He was more than an outdoorsman; Trevor was a true jack of all trades. Like his father before him, he had a gift for mechanics and an uncanny ability to bring engines back to life-boats, trucks, snow machines, you name it. If it had a motor, Trevor could fix it. His hands were always busy, his mind always working, and he approached every challenge with determination, patience, and creativity.

Those lucky enough to know Trevor were drawn to his infectious laugh and easygoing nature. His laughter could light up a room and lift the heaviest of hearts. He had a unique gift for bringing people together, making everyone feel welcomed and valued. To spend time with Trevor was to be reminded of life's simple joys and the power of kindness.

He lived each day in Juneau with gratitude and intention-boldly, generously, and always on his own terms. Trevor's adventurous spirit, warm heart, and unwavering loyalty touched countless lives and left a legacy that will endure in the memories of all who knew and loved him.

Trevor is survived by his loving father, John Shakespeare of Juneau; sisters Jennifer Shakespeare of Nebraska and Tabitha Sutton of Sitka; stepfather Jerry Sutton of Sitka; grandmother Helen Pekovich of Juneau; aunt Andrea DeMuth of Juneau; niece Jalen and nephew Jaxtin, both of Nebraska; and his devoted partner, Jennifer Hall and children of Juneau, who stood beside him through life's many adventures. He is also survived by many extended family members near and far.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Darla Sutton; grandfather Harold Shakespeare; and maternal grandparents Norman and Carolyn Hickok. Their memory lives on in the hearts of those who gather, reminisce, and carry their stories forward.

Trevor's life was a testament to the strength of laughter, love, and living with purpose. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His legacy is one of generosity, grit, and the simple truth that sometimes the best way to solve a problem is with a wrench in one hand and a smile on your face.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
