Trini Fichtel Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 11, 2016.
Trini FichtelCorpus Christi, TXOctober 9, 2016, dedicated wife, loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother, Trini Fichtel, age 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed into God's loving hands from natural causes, after spending the day surrounded by family. Trini was born on September 4, 1923 in Hebbronville, Texas, to Carlos and Trinidad Ortiz. She was blessed to share her life with five brothers and six sisters. When Trini wasn't participating in birthdays, family gatherings or the many sports events she attended for her children and grandchildren, you would find her doing arts and crafts or shopping for next great bargain. She loved to sew and do ceramics. Eventually she took up painting and discovered she was a true artist! Through the years, Trini generously shared her masterpieces with family and friends. Some of us are fortunate to have them grace the walls of our homes today. Although she enjoyed creating beautiful things, Trini would tell you that her greatest creation was her children: Bonnie Coovert (Norman), Georgie Hogan, Buddy Fichtel, Neal Fichtel (Cathy), Howard Fichtel (Robbie), Anneliese Arnold (Terry), and Frank Fichtel (Lesly). Her spirit lives on in the lives of her 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Trini spent her entire life dedicated to her family. She had a quite strength and a gentle spirit. She leaves each of us with our own treasure trove of memories to cherish. We will never forget that oh so familiar 'jingle' of her bracelets that brought us such joy. We are forever blessed by the wonderful example of unconditional, selfless love she shared with all. Her beautiful life and valuable lessons will be cherished forever. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated October 13, 2016, at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2233 Waldron Road in Corpus Christi at 12:00 p.m. ,Burial will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery promptly at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at 3:00 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish Hall.
