I will always remember Trooper Ken Harsey as a hero. He served our state and communities as a legend in law enforcement. He also served our community helping develop so many through sports. I remember he and my Dad on a hot July day flipping burgers while fundraising for our youth programs. I am thankful for this fine man. We need so many more Ken Harsey's.

Ken was the greatest man I have ever known. He attended my wedding in April of 1967 in Wildwood Baptist Church. Our SGT. Told him he could not take off to attend my wedding. At the Ken was assigned to Lake County and the wedding was in Sumter Co. When I went to the back of the church I saw a FHP car. When I entered the church I saw Ken. He had a smile on his face and said you didn’t think he was going to stop me from attending your wedding. Ken was a very strong and a real man. I will alway remember Ken being a true friend. I loved this man.

You were a Trooper in more ways than one to me. You were my “Uncle Bubber” who always picked at me and loved me. You kept me out of trouble and protected me. You were a Highway Trooper to be proud of. You will never be forgotten.

One of my fondest memories of Ken was of him carrying a small child into the FHP station when the parent had been arrested for DUI. He was a caring human being and a champion for children ALWAYS. He was not just my co-worker, he was my friend and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace, my friend.

The stories about Trooper Harsey are legend! One hell of a man and one hell of a Law Enforcement Officer that all of the young troops strived to be like! He loved his children and always stood for right versus wrong! The world lost a Great Man the day he passed!
