Troy Lester Adams 84, of Bassett passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Henry Co, on June 5, 1938, the son of the late James Lester Adams and the late Annie Ellen Martin Adams. He was also preceded in death by a brother Lenwood Adams and sisters – in law, Bea Adams and Bobbie Adams.
He retired from Stanley Furniture as a chief operator and owned A&T Food Market, also owned Adams & Turner Sawmill and enjoyed woodworking. Troy was in the United States Army and was a deacon, youth teacher and he led the Royal Ambassadors at Blackberry Baptist Church. He was a charter member of Patrick Henry Fire Dept.
Surviving is his loving wife; Carol Turner Adams, daughter and son – in – law; Tanya Adams Verlik (Sean), grandson McKinley Sean Verlik, brothers and sister – in – law; David Adams, Lonnie Adams, Roger Adams (Patricia), sister – in – law; Peggy Merriman and husband (Moyer) and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Troy will be Sunday February 5 from 3 – 5 p.m. at Blackberry Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday February 6 at 3:00 P.M. at Blackberry Baptist Church with Pastor Chad Janey and Pastor Daryl Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the Blackberry Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Blackberry Cemetery fund at 3241 Stones Dairy Rd, Bassett, Va. 24055.

I have many fond memories of Saturday nights at Troy and Carol's, enjoying good food and fellowship as they played canasta with mom and dad. Troy was a great guy.
