TROY ALLEN CLIFTON

Troy Allen Clifton BRISTOL, Tenn. Troy Allen Clifton, age 24, unexpectedly went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born Oct. 10, 1987 to Jerry A. Clifton and Vivian L. Clifton and had lived in the Bristol area all of his life. Troy worked as a radiology technician for Johnson City Medical Center and Indian Path Hospital. He attended the Church of God in Elizabethton, Tenn., and University Parkway Baptist Church in Johnson City, Tenn. Troy was an outstanding student and was selected for Upward Bound while in high school, and continued to work with the program as a resident adviser throughout his college career. He was a member of the Sullivan East High School Band and was selected to participate as an Honor Band Member at ETSU. He was a 2011 graduate of ETSU, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Lambda Beta. Survivors: Parents, Jerry A. Clifton and Vivian L. Clifton; brother, Travis Clifton and Mary Greene; sister, Traci Clifton Miller and special friend, James Silvers; six nephews; grandmother, Zelma McMurray; grandfather, Homer Gene McMurray; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and special friend, Sassie Mae, his little dog. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Shipley Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Sherfey officiating. Pallbearers will be Cody Patterson, Nick Adams, Julian Allen, Kenny Tinsley, Stephen Hendrix, Adam Tilson, and Brandon Triplett.
