Troy Douglas Love was born to Simmie and Lillie Wiley Love in Blythe, California on February 1, 1961. He was the third born of three sons. Troy learned the value of an honest day’s work at a young age. Loading hay trucks before school each day, he worked side-by-side with his father in the family business.
Troy was an All-American Athlete, crushing records in basketball, football, and track; the number 22 is the number our hometown cheered for on a Friday night. Prophesying it would be the year we would also lose this great man. Troy graduated Palo Verde High School in 1979. He also attended College of the Desert. Troy was a role model on many aspects. As a self-employed man, he owned multiple hay trucks and squeezes, Quedow Mountain Water Company, as well as his security business. Troy still managed to run the fairgrounds and its events. Participating in many youth organizations, he was most recognized for his involvement on the football and baseball fields. He mentored youth on work ethics, integrity, and rectitude of life. As President of the Little League, Troy was determined to give the kids the best opportunities possible; making sure the kids received the most out of their Little League experience. No matter if you were in a show ring, in a field or on the field. On the race track or at the snack shack, chances were you’d find Mr. Love hard at work. Most of all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Troy Douglas Love, 61, passed away February 20, 2022 at Eisenhower Medical Center with his wife Melinda and two daughters, Brandie and Britney, by his side.
Troy will be missed dearly. His legacy and work ethics will forever live on through his children and grandchildren. Troy leaves behind his loving wife and best friend Melinda, his children Lil’ Troy, Brandie, Britney, Aderiana, Alize’, and Josiah. 12 Grandchildren Cameron, Faith, Robert, Alisa, Anthony, Josh, Payton, Reece, Amarissa, Alessandra, Myzel and LJ. His uncles AC and Junior. His aunt Minnie and his is niece Dee Dee.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lillie, his father Simmie, and two brothers Donald and Marvin. As well as his niece Renae.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 9th at Frye Chapel from 6-8pm. Services will be Thursday, March 10th at the Colorado River Fairgrounds 9am, followed by burial services at Palo Verde Cemetery.

Troy lived his life well. The love and sincerity that he showed to others in the community will be missed. It saddens me to know that his dear family will feel this void the most. He dearly loved his family and it showed. Dear cousin Mendy and family, I pray that God gives you the peace and strength you need to carry on. Isa 40:29 Growing up with Troy, I saw that genuine quiet courage in him. Keep all those good times in your hearts, honor his memory and courage by living your lives well. Warmest thoughts and love.

As time goes on it seems as if some of the old rules are fading away. This is certainly not true when you talk about Troy. His work ethic, honesty, commitment to his community and loyalty are from a bygone era. You will be missed Rip #22

You will have to look long and hard to find a nicer person than Troy. He worked for Greg at I-10 Speedway and would do anything that was asked of him. His work ethic was top notch and it was a pleasure to know him. Rest in Peace, my friend, and God Speed.
