Mr. Pebbles was my favorite teacher in 8th grade at Westport! He was the only reason I made it through that year. I looked him up in hopes to take him out to dinner and thank him. I am 47 years old now and realize what a true treasury he was! I wish I looked him up sooner! I am sorry for your loss! Your Dad was an amazing person!

I remember Mr. Peebles social studies class very well. He was so well liked by everyone and so easy to get along with. But tough when he needed to be. My thoughts go out to his loved ones.

How many times I have thought of Peebles over the years. Always remembering the time and patience he showed us (the kids of Louisville's Portland area.) God could not have blessed us with a greater friend or mentor. Bless his family lord for they have suffered a horrible loss with his passing...

Twain was several years older than I, growing up in Beecher Terrace, in Louisville, Ky. Probably before he was even thinking about what profession he wanted to be in, he was a friend and mentor to the youth in the community. Nothing but loving memories.

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of "Peebles" as he was known to us at Williams Middle School. He was my teacher, guiding light, friend and confidant; not only to me but to many other students. He was one of the best things about living through those middle years. Thank you, my friend, for being a strong yet compassionate teacher. A life well lived. My prayers are with the family.

I think of Twain as a positive, friendly, funny guy that was easy to like. When I look back, I realize that he was also a person that I could count on for support. In short, he was a great friend. He will be sorely missed by many, and although we lost contact in recent years, he will be missed by me. Condolences from me and my family to the family of Twain Peeples.
