My sincere condolences to you all. I'm glad you had some terrific family trips in the past couple years; those times are precious. I know Stephen, Elias, and Christian, you will continue to grow into the fine young men your dad groomed you to be.

I first came to know Ty when he came to my son's rescue after Michael forgot to attend his after-school Lego-building class over four years ago. My son was worried because I hadn't picked him up from school, so Ty reassured him, even bringing him a soda to keep him happy. Ty, dad to Michael's good buddy, Stephen, called me to let me know about the mix-up, then followed up with such a thoughtful text message, telling me, in part, "You have such a great kid!"
To this day, I have that very sweet text message saved on my phone because it was such a kind gesture that meant so much and came at a time, unbeknownst to Ty, when it was most needed. I now understand that kindness and generosity were routine for Ty, and that he touched so many.
Michael and I send our heartfelt condolences. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers, knowing that the love of a great husband and father will always be with you.
