In memory of
your neighbor
May 6, 2016
To Tyesha's family,
I still live near your old home and will never forget your little angel Tyesha. A terrible shock for our neighborhood, and the worst tragedy for you. I think of her, and of you all, and hope you are doing well. You have a precious angel watching over you.
I wish my words were good enough to express this better. I just know that so many people will always remember Tyesha and want you to know this.

To the Family of Tyesha,
I can honestly say it has been years since I returned to my old neighborhood. And when I did, it was for tragedy. I remember playing on the playground with her. I remember that she was always the youngest but she still would try to keep up with the rest of us. And she never let her thoughts go unheard. You were going to hear her whether you liked it or not. She had a purpose in her short life. She needed to tell someone, something. She completed her God given task. I love her and will miss her. God bless you guys!!
Love,
Sheena (34th & Elliot 1995-1999)

To Tyesha's Mom
I know.
I have walked a mile in your shoes.
I know what it feels like.
My son was sitting in his living room watching T.V. when a bullet came through his window. It shot and killed him instantly.
I wish that I could talk to you. There are a lot of things that I would tell you about this journey that you are now traveling.
There is anger, there is pain, there are questions - whys and what ifs. There are no easy answers.
I do know that God is good and He is there for you and with you every step of the way.
I do know that joy comes in the morning!
One day we will see our children again. What a celebration that will be!
Be strong.

Dear Linda and Leonard:
I read with much sadness about Tyesha's death. Then today I saw your pictures in the newspaper and realized that I know you from a legal matter I helped you with in the past. I am so very sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter. I know that you gave Tyesha all the love and happiness that parents could give during her life, which was all too short. I am thinking of you and sending you my prayers and my sympathy.

My prayers go out to the family of Tyesha. I have 2 children of my own and I can't imagine how my life would be to have one of my kids taken away from me because of someone else's stupidity. If this is of any comfort, let it be known there are people around you who will be there for support and to share your grief. I don't know your family, but I too am feeling your grief. May god bless you and your family during this time.
