Gentle, funny, direct and always observant.
For the many times we hung out just being "real". For the myspace adventures you, me and Ingrid had fun together, writing poems, talking shop and Jesus's light in the air. For the many times we spoke without a care in the world, laughing at the unfamiliar times of being late to get somewhere and humming songs that we forgot the words too. Your in the Jesus choir now and using those vocal pipes, smiles and observant laughter...one day...I will be there too, so hold a VIP chair or seat for me like you did here on planet earth up there for me, so we can speak small sentences, smile and laugh like we used too. Miss your sunshine.

I had the pleasure of speaking to Tyka multiple times during the release of her album "Brand New Me" back in 2008 when our internet station promoted it. She was very sweet and kind and I'm glad our paths crossed.

You Always Showed Such Genuine Joy & Gratitude to All who cherished PRINCE. You travelled to be here with us in Melbourne, Australia where you performed at The "Nothing Compares 2 Prince" concert - it was pure joy to hear you sing like an angel & I feel truly blessed to have met you after the concert . My condolences to President and Sir and extended family and friends. Heaven is singing more beautifully with its newest angel. I can still remember Tyka from attending Lowell Elementary School back in the mid 60’s into 70’s when our classmates would sing “Jeremiah was a bullfrog” in class. Tyka always had the best voice. Her best friends, Francine “Frankie” Davis and Cari Jameson were an unstoppable trio. I attended Jordan Jr High School and Tyka, Frankie, and Cari attended Franklin Jr High School (due to boundary lines of our neighborhoods) then we all met back up at North Community High School. I will always have good memories of Tyka and cherish our friendship forever. Rest in peace, my dear, rest in peace.
