Tylar Michaud Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Aug. 2 to Aug. 5, 2023.
Tylar Charles Michaud was lost at sea on Friday July 21st.

He was born in Bangor, ME on June 15th, 2005, and went missing just a month after his graduation from Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus and his 18th birthday.

Tylar lit up a room when he entered. Always noted first were his stunning eyes- filled with intelligence and wit. He was a delight to all he met. Tylar was never shy to engage, pull a prank, crack a joke, or tease those he cared most for. He was a skilled outdoorsman and excellent hunter from an early age. He treasured his time hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather. Hunting camp also made him a card shark. Tylar took to lobster fishing with his Kennedy family and spent as much time as he could on the water. He was never satisfied with what he knew and could be found in the fishing community grilling other lobstermen for tips to improve.

Tylar was wicked smart with an amazing sense of humor. He was curious, loved learning, and made education entertaining for all involved. Tylar was also an athlete, who enjoyed both soccer and baseball. Tylar spent the winter learning the craft of boat building, where he continued to improve his long game of imitating his step-father and brother's exasperation working with the boys for the entertainment of anyone who would listen. All extracurricular time was spent working, talking about work, or making more work for himself to avoid real work. He was thrilled with his plans to attend Maine Maritime Academy in the fall to study Marine Engineering.

Tylar is survived on his Michaud Family by: his father Ron Michaud (Pittsfield, ME), his adoring grandparents Harry and Carole Michaud (Lee, ME ), his uncles and aunts, Rik and Liz Michaud (Cresskill, NJ); Kendra and Jake Hanna (Mt Desert, ME). Also, a very large extended family: "We all love you Tylar."

He is survived on his Kennedy Family by: his mother and step-father, Valerie and Bryant Kennedy (Steuben, ME), grandmother Eleanor Perkins, aunts and uncle Miranda Perkins, Farleen and Dean Smith, "Nan" Priscilla Kennedy, Alta & Larry, his sibling extensions, Zachary La Fave, Nathan and Joie La Fave, Roger & Angela Kennedy, Bryant & Kate Kennedy, Madison, Alexa, and Lance. Also, a large extended family. Predeceased by his grandfather Harry Perkins.

All are welcome to attend his Celebration of Life Ceremony that will be conducted at Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus on August 20th, 2023 at 12 noon. Attendees are invited to bring a small item to contribute to a memory box that will be laid to rest for Tylar. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tylar Michaud Scholarship Fund: Charles M. Sumner Learning Campus, 2456 US-1 Sullivan, ME 04664.

I had seen Tyler many times as he was best friends with my granddaughters. I met him after Graduation during picture taking. I watched my family as they all were embracing each other with a job well done class of " 23". I couldn't help but feel the love Tyler displayed for his classmates, and so did they. All the sudden Tyler was part of my Grandchildren. My heart has mourned the loss we have all felt and send our deepest condolences to the families. .

I only know of Tylar through his Uncle Rik. Tylar's life and story have a sentiment of familiarity to my own brother's passing many years ago, at sea. So many have captured it here - "No Words" to adequately articulate this tragic loss of life, to family, to our World. Tylar, Forever Young, and will live in the hearts of all who know and love him! Be strong for Tylar, let his life inspire each of us to be better, to live life to the fullest! I didn't know Tylar, but I am touched by his life through each of you. With deepest Sympathy, Beth B.

I didn't know Tylar but my grandson did. He expressed that Tylar was one of the best natured young men that he knew and he wouldn't hurt a fly. I'd like to extend my deepest sympathies and most sincere condolences to Tylar's families. A soul taken too soon but never to be forgotten.
