I am Tyler’s Godmother and aunt, Ruth’s sister. I have countless cherished memories of him, starting as a tiny little infant on through his becoming a young adult. When Ruth and Bud spent so many weeks away from home earlier this year helping their second born son, Trevor, through his major surgery, Ty showed us all that he had made that leap to adulthood by managing the home front for them. My four sons grew up alongside of Tyler and his brothers; it meant so much to Jared (16) and Nathan (18) that he would come over just to take them skateboarding and show them new spots—they knew him and loved him, and continue to grieve and pray for him, as we all do. Tyler was John's top competitor in 8-ball and they enjoyed many games together over the years. While we remain on earth, I don't think we will ever understand Tyler’s leaving us so early. But as Tyler’s memorial card says so perfectly from the words of our Redeemer, Jesus: "Fear is useless. What is needed is trust." Our love and prayers are with you always Ruth, Bud, Trevor, Dusty and Barry.

We were travelling with Tyler on the Sturgis trip. We regret that we didn't get the chance to know him; from what we've heard, he must have been a wonderful, amazing person. Our hearts and prayers are with his family.

Sincerely,

I got to know Tyler at the Jane Addams School where he started volunteering last Spring through a philosophy class at UMN. Tyler spent many hours playing chess, reading books, playing and talking with the children. He continued to be part of Jane Addams School even after his class ended. His presence touched us deeply and his commitment and enthusiasm made an impact on the lives of many children and adults. It filled me with great sadness to hear of his passing. Please know that even in Tyler's short time with us he made a difference and your loss is shared by many. May God watch over and strengthen you in the days ahead.

With deepest sympathy,

D'Ann

Those of us at the Jane Addams School are just beginning to hear of the tragic loss of Tyler. It is a very very sad loss. His time with us at Jane Addams School was a real gift. This summer he came every week and we all grew to count on him...especially the children. He touched many lives with his quiet gentle soul. We will remember.

I was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic death of Tyler. I have had the pleasure of working alongside Tyler over the past year at the Jane Addams School for Democracy. Tyler had a unique ability to just step in and interact with youth. He developed strong relationships with a bunch of different groups of youth here. We all have fond memories of his time with us and miss him deeply.

I'm Tyler's Mom and I want to thank all of you for your beautiful thoughts about Ty. Parents rarely get a chance to know the "friend" or "coworker" side of their child. . .it adds much to our vision of Tyler as the wonderful young man he had become.

Just as an aside, his website is still up: www.sparkflight.com

With love,

Ruth

Our hearts are broken bearing the loss of our wonderful nephew. We loved Tyler so much and he made us feel so special when he would come to visit us on his own. He was so excited about his job and his future. There really are no words to express our sadness and our depth of sympathy for Bud and Ruth. We dearly love this family.

Uncle Bud, Aunt Ruth, Trevor, Dustin and Barry - You are all in my thoughts and prayers constantly. I am so deeply saddened by the loss of Tyler. It seems like yesterday when he and I spent so much time together on Christmas Eve looking at his awesome artwork and talking about his aspirations and college classes. Tyler had the most wonderful smile and a peaceful nature about him. I remember babysitting him when he was just a baby. My tears are overflowing for all of you. I wish I could be there to hug you and show all my love for your family.

I got the honor of knowing Tyler and spending a lot of time with him this past year. We bonded during our evening electronic art class when we sat next to each other, discussing web design and computers. He has been a great friend to me ever since. I was amazed at how talented and ambitious he was, he always had a dozen ideas and was excited about learning new things. This spring when I got a bike, he taught me how to ride, and about safety. We rode a lot together, and I always felt comfortable and safe when I was riding with him. Everyone who met Tyler always had so many good things to say about him. Everything from his knowledge and enthusiasm for bikes to his kindness, and good spirit were things that people who met Tyler would tell me they liked about him.

To his family, my prayers are with you constantly, I only wish I could have spent as much time with him as you got to. I am very heartbroken with this loss, and I will miss Tyler very much. May God bless you and carry you through this tough time.

Tyler was indeed a wonderful person, as is evident by the heartfelt entries here from people who said they knew him only briefly. I can agree wholeheartedly that he was an honorable, smart, and talented guy, dearly loved and respected by all. We will miss him.

To the family of Tyler Jensen:

No words can express the sadness I felt yesterday, learning of Tylers accident.

I personally had commented many times here at CSM, sitting at the front door watching Ty come in every day...full motorcycle gear and a backpack slung on his shoulder.

I hope that he can be a role model for all the bikers out there, that even on the 95 degree days, know IT IS cool to wear a helmet and gear. HE did,and he was a cool guy.

To his family, I hope you will heal and know that he is now in a better place than us. Eternally.

God bless and be with you all in this time of heartache.

Although I didn't know Tyler very well, he seemed like a wonderful guy. Everyday he had a smile on his face and said hello to me every morning. He will be dearly missed here. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

We are deeply saddened and shocked by the sudden loss of such a promising individual. I worked with Tyler on a daily basis for the past few months in conjunction with his website redesign work. I was continually impressed with the artistic abilities he displayed in his work. I was equally impressed with his level of technical expertise and ability to absorb new ideas and concepts outside his artistic frame of reference. On a personal level, he made my days more interesting and enjoyable and I know he had the same effect on everyone else he came in contact with.

While not personally acquainted with Tyler, I did see him everyday at work as we parked on the same side of the building. However, I was deeply touched and saddened by this sudden loss of such a young man. I am sure that Tyler will remain in the thoughts and prayers of many people in years to come. May peace and love be with you..

I didn't know Tyler much, just through work. He was always so nice and sweet, nodding a hello every morning when he'd come in.

I think most knew (without knowing him) that he was always protected when it came to riding his bike. Such a shame that he's no longer with us, but he is indeed in a much brighter, nicer calmer place. Peace be with you Tyler, forever and always.

We are deeply saddened by the sudden loss. Che and Tyler work together at CSM. Che is IT and Tyler did the Web design. They were all talking about the upcoming boat trip they are attending on friday the 16th.. Everyone was so excited about being able to hang out and let their hair down. Please accept our deepest sympathy and know that so many people were touched by your son, and brother. He was a great man and a hard worker.. We will all pray for you in hopes that you will all find solace in this loss. May god rest his soul...
