Ulysses Grant Williamson, Jr., 84, of Johns Island, South Carolina, husband of Carol Sue Mardant Williamson, the love of his life for 65 wonderful years, entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 25, 2024. His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Parkway at 11:00 am.  Interment to follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, April 29, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in J. Henry Stuhr Inc., West Ashley Chapel.  

Ulysses was born December 3, 1939 in Ash, North Carolina, son of the late Ulysses Grant Williamson Sr. and Francis Elizabeth Boyd Williamson. He worked at several dredging companies, then opened his own welding business in 1977, Williamson Welding. After retirement in 2007, he handed the business over to his son, David Williamson.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Haynes of Johns Island, SC, Barbara Ellis of Charleston, SC; son, David Williamson (Rebekah) of Johns Island, SC; four grandsons, Nathan Haynes (Samantha), Johnathan Haynes, Shane Ellis, DJ Williamson; four granddaughters, Carol Sue Haynes, Jessica Duggan (Andrew), Amanda Sellers (Jesse), Taylor Williamson; two step-great-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nephew, Robert Lee Williamson (Sherry).

He was preceded in death by his father, Ulysses Grant Williamson Sr.; mother, Francis Elizabeth Williamson; sister, Majorie Williamson; brothers, Billy Lee Williamson, and Kenneth Ray Williamson .
