I, too, knew and referred to him as "Luke". Did business with him all thru the years in Apache Flats since 1965 and remember the kids working in the store with him and Lois, especially Janie. He did alot for the St. Martins and Apache Flats area and will never forget his noble fights for Catholic Schools.
A good man and friend who will be missed by many.

I have always called him Luke, I have fond memories of him, when we were kids my dad , Jack Smith, would stop at the gas station Luke had by the House of Bargains and he always gave us (all) kids candy, I always enjoyed visiting with him at what ever location he was at, & my Mom , Genevieve Smith always bought his apples, I had just been at the Dome a week ago and visited with him, he was a Good man. I am sorry for your loss. I will miss him.
