V. Myrtle Hatch, 104, passed away May 21, 2014 at Westridge Gardens in Raytown, MO. A graveside service will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Kansas City, MO. Myrtle was born to Roy and Chlora Mae Dunlap in 1909. She grew up on a farm with four older brothers and a baby sister. She rode her pony to a one- room schoolhouse. When she started high school in the nearest small town, her father told her to be leery of the town boys. She ended up marrying the banker's son. Myrtle never met a stranger and if you knew her you had a lifelong friend. She was one of those rare persons who was liked by most everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar E. Hatch, daughter, Joan Nave, sister, Marilyn Werner, grandson, Justin E. Hatch and great granddaughter, Stacia Dzula. She is survived by her son, Harold E. Hatch, his wife, JoAnn, son-in-law, Richard Nave, four granddaughters, Teri Dzula, Leslie A. Garrett, Sarah J. Hatch and Nanci Meyers; great grandchildren, Rick Dzula, Tina Dzula, Natalie Knisley, K. Sarah Winston, Victoria S. Garrett, Brandi Stutting, Becki Wendler, Amy Fry and many great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She loved them all equally. (Arr: Park Lawn 816-523- 1234).

Mytle and my mother, Mildred Kurz, were friends. They went to Silver Streaks to play games together here in Raytown. My mom would have been 106 today but died at 101...Myrtle ended up living the longest. Know they are giving each other hugs now. Myrtle was one of the sweetest people I ever met.

I was Myrtle's neighbor at Countryshire from 1993-2002. I loved her! She dressed up in her Chiefs shirt and scarf to watch the games. We shared a glass of wine when she was locked out of her apartment. She knocked on my door one day and wanted me to come see her 90 long stem red roses for her birthday then shared some with me! I still have the magnet she gave me on my refrigerator. It says "One is nearer God's heart in a garden than anywhere else on earth." She always loved the flowers I put out on my patio. I did talk to her last year, she said she remembered me. God bless you Myrtle.
