V. William Asbell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 13, 2025.
Bill Asbell, age 86, of Novato, California, passed away on August 4, 2025. Born on June 4, 1939, in Stockton, California, Bill was the son of the late V. Elmer and Lillian Asbell.

He is survived by his two daughters, Sheri Asbell and Laura Stansfield, and his sister, Karen Thompson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sharon Asbell, his parents, and his sister Marlene Bibbens.

A longtime resident of Marin County, Bill attended Ross Grammar School, Sir Francis Drake High School, and the College of Marin. In 1960, he married Sharon Jones, and together they made their home in San Anselmo for 52 years. Later, Bill and his daughter Sheri moved to Novato, where they spent the past seven years.

Bill took over his father-in-law's general contracting business, which he successfully ran for many decades. Even after retiring from construction, he remained active in the field as a consultant, conducting job site inspections.

In his earlier years, Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing and later found joy in traveling and home improvement projects.

No services are planned at this time. In honor of Bill's memory, the family encourages acts of kindness to be shared with others.

Just one of the many pic of the great celebration times we shared.
We will miss you Bill! And and day doesn't go by when I don't think of our beloved Sharon!

We will meet again, but you
Will always be in my

My Dearest Sweetest Bill,
We have had the greatest times traveling the world with you and Sharon. Memories we will never forget. We love you and will miss you, the sun will no longer shine as bright without both of you.
