Valerie Hodor

Valerie "Val" Lynn Hodor (n�e Proctor) passed away peacefully at her home in Westland, Michigan, on February 14, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on January 22, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Dorothy Mears and Clifford Proctor.

Valerie was the beloved wife of her best friend and true love, Steven Hodor. They met when she was just 16 years old and shared a beautiful marriage of 57 years. She was a devoted mother to Angela (Jim) Hodor and Doreen Hodor and a cherished grandmother to Brittany, Natasha, Colin (Lauren), Kaylie (Angel), and Elise. She also had a deep love for her fur-babies-Carmel, Oreo, Nova, and Midnight-as well as many "grand" fur-babies that brought her joy.

She was one of seven siblings and is remembered by her surviving brothers and sisters: David (Connie) Proctor, Ruthann (the late LeRoy) LaBeau, and Larry (Mary) Proctor. She is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings Raymond Proctor (Joan), Donald Proctor (the late Gerri), and Roger Proctor (Rita).

Valerie had a warm presence that left an impact on many hearts. She was a strong, compassionate, and loving woman who always put family and friends first. Known for always telling her loved ones, "I love you more than you know," she lived by those words as her love was unconditional. An avid animal lover, she often rescued animals in need. She worked for Meijer and later owned her own travel agency, combining her passion for adventure with her career. She loved traveling, camping with loved ones, creating beautiful cakes, sewing, and crafting.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 231 in New Boston, Michigan.

Valerie's kindness and love will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
