I was a client of Val's for years, and a friend for just as long. I know she had the heart of an angel and the fighting determination of a warrior. This world will miss her, but I have no doubt she is lighting up the Universe with her wonderful spirit. May her memory bring joy to all who knew her.
Hight School Friend
February 21, 2010
I considered Val to be one of my best friends through much of High School. I would not be surprised if a lot of people considered Val their best friend as well. I learned to love Val’s huge heart that shone through her smile and hugs for everyone around her. But I also know that she could be shy and anxious about new experiences. She always wanted to do well at everything and when something is new to you that can be difficult. But she would just damn the torpedo’s leave her fears in the dust and just do it! She seemed to know that she only had a limited time to do so much. One area she never hesitated in was being there for her friends. She might be nervous about some upcoming event but would be the first to encourage those around her. I believe a lot of this has to do with the fantastic relationship she had with her mother. Her mother always made Val feel like she could do anything. And because of that she did so much. We were so lucky to have known her. For every friend who misses her in her home town there is one in Minnesota and one in her beloved Paris, and we have all lost a best friend
