Valorie Ann Geel

Valorie Ann (Parritt) Geel (69) of Columbia, Maine passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her family on November 18, 2025. Beloved wife of Kerry Geel. Valorie was born in Bangor, Maine on May 31, 1956, the daughter of Leslie Parritt Jr. and Ann (Wilkes) Norton.

Val and Kerry got married in Sugarland, Texas in 1977. They then moved home to Columbia, Maine to raise their family. She worked several years as a secretary for the town of Columbia. Kerry and Val were lease holders for Cherryfield Foods for 28 years where she met some amazing people from all over the world. They also had a wreath and Christmas tree business for over 30 years. Val worked as the greenhouse manager for Elmer's Gardens for 12 years. She also worked for Lynn Drisko in her greenhouse as well. Valorie was a housekeeper in Winter Harbor for the last 15 years. She loved her clients like family.

Val loved gardening and spending time at Schoodic Lake at their family cottage. Jamie gave her the three most special blessings in her life, Dylan, Jacob, and Molly, which her world revolved around.

Valorie is survived by her husband, Kerry and her grandchildren, Dylan, Jacob, and Molly of Columbia. Siblings, Debbie Skeate and husband, Stuart of Columbia, Eric Norton and wife, Elizabeth of Leominster MA, Lisa Lutes and husband, Eric of Addison, Rhonda Hamilton and husband Ted of Prescott, AZ. Special aunt and uncle, Roberta (Parritt) Mcglaughlin and her husband, George of Winter Harbor, and Ronnie Parritt and wife Julie of Steuben. Many special nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed by her special pups, Herc and Milo.

Valorie is predeceased by her parents, Leslie Parritt Jr, Ann (Wilkes) and Nathan (Buzz) Norton; her in laws Lottie and Royce Geel; daughters, Nicole L. (Geel) Leighton, and Jaime L. Geel.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 30 at 1:00 at Columbia Town Hall, 106 Epping Road, Columbia Maine. As many of you know Valorie and Kerry were raising their grandchildren therefore a memorial account in honor of Valorie has been established by Debbie Skeate to help the family at Camden National Bank, PO Box 40, Milbridge, ME, 04658.
