Nell,
I want you to know I am thinking about you and your family during this time. I was brought into the funeral care industry by Vance and I'll always remember him for all he did for me. He was a wonderful boss with a great sense of humor who made my job so much easier with his ability to teach and show his compassion. There are many stories I can recall about the years we worked together; some that I believe are one-of-a-kind. He cared about his work, his fellow employees and most of all I know how much he loved his family. He gave everyone a fair chance to do their best. Although we haven't kept in touch, he will always be an important man to me as I wouldn't be where I am without him. You were both like family. It was a true Honor to serve with Vance.
God bless you.

Scott

Nell,

I have fond memories of the time we all lived in Ashdown. I loved Vance's sense of humor.

To the Marcum Family:
I always had great respect for Mr. Marcum, being a fellow funeral professional. I met Vance several years ago when he worked at Oakcrest, then again when he worked for the Madden Funeral Home. We have lost a very "stately" man of funeral service in Arkansas. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. May God bless each of you.
